Alpha Testers Edition
Been playing the alpha, here's my summary:
Pros:
>gas + mask is fun
>balance is decent, less hip firing snipers
>vehicles are arcade fun, not totally op
>decent graphics and map size. 64 players
>slightly better clipping than bf4
>alpha servs seem to have decent latency. bf4 rubberband seems reduced
Cons:
>scopes are dogshit. cant adjust range. hope theres more deadiron
>animations feel clunky at times
>feels like recycled bf4
>all those dindus wtf sweden no!
overall i give it an 8/10. -maybe- worth full retail 60, but knowing ea and their jewery it wil be like 200$ for game + dlc. enjoying the alpha for free tho. What are you gut reactions from it? also, who do i see about getting my shekels per (you)?

Map design anon? DICE hasn't had good map design since BFBC2, BF3 is debatable.

Like what? The SMG hipfire is more accurate than mounted LMGs and you can just mow down everything up to medium range without effort.
And medics can unlock sniper rifles and just camp and snipe and when you get hit you can just pop a medpack and resume raping

Vehicle play is fun though and not OP because there's all sorts of field artillery all over the maps, you can just mount a 8-pounder cannon and wreck some tanks and armored cars.

At the moment, no. Recon can fire flares that reveal enemy positions on the map but that's pretty useless skill.
Can you take the scopes off bolt actions and play something approximating an actual first world war soldier?

There's a weapon customization system in the game but it's disabled in alpha so yeah I'd imagine you can do just that. There's also preset weapons you can buy for warbonds, like trench version of a bolt action marksman rifle
