books tend to last a very long time especially in dry locations, considering nv didn't really get hit by nukes the same as the rest, it makes sense for stuff like books to have a higher survival rate in the area, that and it would not be too hard to make copies of things by hand

24/26 damage is rather weak and is just slightly better than Varmint Rifle/Ratslayer.
Ratslayer does 23/30, is silenced, has a night scope (3.5x, same as All-American) AND has a x5 crit rate.
Sure, the All-American is better at mid-range as well as better against more armored mobs, but I would rather use This Machine for that.

I always picture Novac as that somewhat run down but still charming motel you stop at on a road trip. Like the type you see in a lot of movies, and especially fits the vegas theme.

I think the perfect house mod would be something small and comfy, kind of like Schoolhouse Special, but with all the neat little things that Underground/Underwater hideouts have. I dig all the shit in the Under houses, but the whole "ur own super specieal superbasseeee!!!" turns me the fuck off of it.
Like, one thing really good with the Underground base is the armory where weapons show up on the wall, that's cool and makes collecting fun. In my dream house mod, there'd be a weapons and unique weapons cases, and, when the mod reads that a weapon that wasn't there before is placed in there, the weapon then becomes a part of the house. Like imagine putting Greased Lightning into storage and then, inside your house, a little model of Greased Lightning is shown under your bed. Helps add to the realism of the mod and makes it really better.
Shame I don't show shit for modding.

I really like the idea of a nice little safe area to store your shit thats far away from everything else, always liked the way underground hideout had a power system for lights and other facilities that meant you would have to stock up on the expensive reactor fuel before going to the dlc areas. The way it added items based on game progression was also really cool to have, would have been nice if it kept the defense aspects that the fo3 version has with the whole posting guards, turrets, and building defenses for occasional raids by raiders, super mutants, enclave,ect.

they are a "tutorial faction", their purpose is to help explain the reputation mechanic. if you side with Goodsprings and kill Cobb's men, you are locked out of a quest at the prison. so it teaches the player that they should think about decisions before making them. also if you get on their good side, they'll give you supplies for making your own ammo.

BoS, they're slowly killing themselves by strictly following a horribly inefficient code and not doing anything good or useful with the tech they permanently seek.
If they shared tech with outsiders in exchange for what the need and made their Codex of lower priority they wouldn't get so many combat losses over tech or need a Courier/Chosen One/Dweller/Popsicle to do their work.
