I would recommend the sfc/snes version of I-II and III. Best graphics and music and more balanced. Some might say the gbc versions are better but I don't feel their additions are enough. Be warned, the sfc/snes version of II has some nasty game breaking bugs, try researching them to be safe.

Also a quick note that your buddy the prince of cannock, the guy in green, is quite unreliable. Be prepared II is considered the hardest in the series and nothing comes close.

Not really, I'd recommend playing through I and II before III though since they're a somewhat connected trilogy. I think IV-VI also are considered a trilogy but I think it's just because of a plot element or something like that.

I know that DQ I and II's English NES versions used the DQ III engine. I also know that the PS2 version of DQ VIII had orchestral music, VA, and the MC went Super Saiyan when his tension maxed out. I'm sure most if not all of that was Plus Alpha's doing though.

My sage has 66 strength and 68 attack, a zombie slasher adds 65 attack while a falcon blade adds only 5 attack but attacks twice. Which do you think is personally better?

Zombie Slasher IMO. I don't really find the Falcon Blade all that great unless you either have high enough strength or trying to farm metal slimes. I don't think your Sage will do much damage at the point of the game you're in with only 71 attack in total even if you hit twice.

Nothing but a screenshot of the dialogue from the Japanese version. I took it when I played through it. It's when you try to open the door to her private baths and you just get dialogue. I don't know what it was changed to in the English version, but in the Japanese version once time a servant comments on the size of the queen's rack, and the other time was this.

I know that the scene in DQ IV where a wife restores her husbands memory with her wedding ring was actually her giving him a puff-puff in the Japanese version, I played up to that part a few days ago and posted about it in a DQ thread. It's kinda strange though, since the puff-puff joke was left in DQ VIII, and it was localized by the same people. Maybe they figured that kids wouldn't understand what a puff-puff was since they just used slimes in that game, but then, a kid wouldn't know what a puff-puff is if they saw the original scene in DQ IV. Not a non-Japanese kid, anyway.

Play the remakes of I and II. They heavily nerfed the grinding aspect, I believe it was the GBA version? Or the SNES version that did so. Maybe both.
1 is really simplistic but not in a bad way. It's just that the game is 2% story 8% exploration 90% grinding, and if you wanna skip the filler and just play the game definitely play the remakes. Doesn't nerf enemies just makes them give more gold and exp so you don't have to fight the same monster 30 times before you're strong enough and have enough gold to get the next weapon and armor and fight the next enemy 30 times more. It's still rather difficult.
2 is also a bit rough around the edges, but again is still a good game. A bit fast paced since you'll get the second party member at the second town and the third at the third town + miniquest, but it's nice to begin leveling your characters immediately rather than have 1 for 3 hours, get a new one and have to play catch up with them, then 3 hours later get the third and have to play super catchup since developers cannot fucking give you a properly leveled character in RPGs fuck you RPG developers.
