Yeah do it. Get them all.
thank you wesley
He looks like Kingpin.

Unless you mod the shit out of them you will find they haven't aged very well. Excellent games, just need some fine tuning to make them more playable.

Came here to say this.
>>343330972
No, original developers get 0$.
Also, steam version somewhat sucks for modding.
Get the repacks from /sg/ instead.
>>343330972
yeah, get the bundle it's 9.99 for all three games instead of paying 7.99 each. they're fun and have good atmosphere.

>download steam version
>all you have to do is change one value in a text file then put your mods in the game data folder
>literally impossible to mod stalker on steam
ok

Only if you wanna be a goody-goody. The old devs are long gone, and won't get a single cent out of purchases. Plus, by pirating, you usually get the original 1.0 versions, that you can manually patch to which ever version you need (some mods are picky about the version of the game).
Anyway, to get the softest landing with the STALKER series, Consult this Starting Guide,
then see the /vg/'s huge Stalker General for more tips and links: >>>/vg/stalker
Play in the release order. Start with no mods - only latest patch, OR get the full "Starter Pack" first; these contain bug-fixers and light visual mods that can help performance as well.
Leave big overhauls for later playthrougs. Avoid the "Complete" -mods. Always play on MASTER difficulty for best realism and atmosphere, and disable crosshair.
Don't give up in the beginning! The starting gear sucks ass and first area can be a bit boring.
Anyone else have difficulties running in win7? It literally takes me like an hour to get into the game
>>343335635
Nobody said it was impossible you tard, that isn't what's being argued.

>Anyone else have difficulties running in win7?
Nope. All 3 games run just fine on my W7 Ultimate x64, running i5 2500 + 8GB RAM + GTX 560ti 1gb.
That being said, your HDD and RAM do affect the loading speeds quite a bit, and some mods do make things worse.
Luckily, there's a simple yet effective fix:
Right click on the game's shortcut, go to Properties, and look up the "Target" line. Add this line to the very end of the line:
-noprefetch
Click OK. Now the game won't load quite as much data while starting up the game, which should speed up the loading times tremendously. This trick works on all 3 games.
If that's not enough, look up and try the 3GB RAM FIX for Stalker games.

What happened to the old devs?
>>343337307
pepsi

GSC started making STALKER 2 right after CoP released.
Then something weird happened, and their CEO, Sergei, kicked EVERYONE else out of the studio, and kept the STALKER's IP all by himself.
The old devs regrouped under the name of Vostok Games, and started making Survarium. Meanwhile, Sergei started looking for new team members, and is now making Cossacks 3.
