The NX, whatever the fuck it is, isn't going to be a Nintendo Playstation 4, if those are your expectations for it then you're setting yourself up for disappointment. They've been using blue ocean strategies with their systems for years, trying to open up new markets and avoiding direct competition with Sony and Microsoft.
Even though it's been failing them recently I can't see them shifting gears completely, especially since the NX started development as part of Iwata's plan.

back in the NES-PS1 days, games were still largely seen as being for kids, and the majority of them were aimed at them. then somewhere around the PS2 generation, the industry aged with the kids and appealed to them as tweens and teens, and then the generation after that went full dudebro and started appealing to those kids now as young adults and has largely stayed there. Which is why a lot of the "magic" older games had is gone. its all a numbers game about how to attract more young adults and shit, and no longer about how to entertain kids
