Memes aside, could this be one of the best games of all time?
It is my favourite game ever, but it has so many flaws to be called the best of all time.

That being said, I'm playing it again and remembered how great some of these quests are. Just finished the one where the orc loanshark traps you on an island to play The Deadliest Game. Great stuff.

Alright, it's 5.35am and I just woke up after realising that even my dreams lost their value as an escape from living.
How do I mod the fuck out of Oblivion so it doesn't crash instantly?
I tried following tesgeneral last time and I fucked it up so I don't really know what to do.
It was just a generic "medieval" game. It lacked a lot of the more interesting lore in the Elder Scrolls and was very lacking in RPing opportunities. It had terrible level scaling to accompany the poor A.I and poorly designed race models. While it had less of a generic plot than Arena, It didn't put nearly as much effort into making 'The heart of the Empire" feel like it was part of a bigger world by showing how the different cultures interacted or how different groups had holidays that would affect certain cities more than others. It didn't even make the cities seem different depending on their location they were all just a generic copy/paste city. All that being said; it's still more fun than Morrowind.

You could argue it's the best Elder Scrolls (although Morrowind is tough competition). Best game ever? Nah. I have a throbbing erection for Oblivion but I'd never argue that.
Fuck Skyrim and everyone who thinks it's objectively better than Oblivion though. Ithink Skyrim is a decent game but it peters out much faster than Oblivion and is a sign that Elder Scrolls games will continue to be simplified to the point where it doesn't come close to the lastability that an open world RPG should have
If you played it on console? You'll probably think it was good since it covered the drought of games for their systems, even though you could've spent that time playing something like Dead Rising instead.
If you played it on PC? You probably saw how it truly was or if you're into mods waited patiently 'till they managed to bump the game up a bit.
