There's nothing wrong with that, RPGs were never a mainstream thing relatively recently in their long decades of existence. It's just scales finally evening out and genres games getting once again made for genre fans.

Tabletops are fine, though. You just see doom and gloom because you're looking at them as if they were video games aka big name titles as AAA equivalent when that's not the case. Not to mention it's not tabletop games are like multiplayer video games where they'll just die or lose technical support. There are still people original AD&D out there, for example. Just because new, shitty editions exist it doesn't negate old ones.

Right. FO4 is considered GOAT because of it's open world and real time combat. It's not considered a completely mediocre, bastard child of the Fallout series with it's severe lack of RPG mechanics.
