This only happens when I play Spectacle Fighters, and that's because I have a tendency of pressing the buttons too hard for no real reason.

look up hand exercises or get a hand grip exerciser
try to not mash buttons so hard, when you were younger you weren't as strong so you had more endurance but if you're mashing buttons at full strength it's going to be painful after a while
