Can someone explain to me why I fell in love with Elizabeth Dewitt almost immediately? I've had Bioshock Infinite for about a year now but just started playing it last night. The first time I saw Elizabeth she took my breath away. Anyone else have this happen to them?

I don't see how anyone can like her or Booker. I've never seen two characters written so poorly in my life. Are we supposed to like these people? I don't understand. There were a lot of other areas were the writing was terrible, but how do you fuck up the basics so much? Booker Dewitt is retarded from beginning to end, with no redeemable qualities. Elizabeth was poorly done. She shouldn't have been so refined. Twitchy, nervous and sheltered would have been the best starting point.

The game being shit has nothing to do with the ending, or the story. Its a paired down simplified to hell and back mess of boring fire fights, boring out of place plasmids and boring environments.
Everything took a step back when it came to straight out gameplay in Infinite. Its just a worse game overall than Bioshock 2 which had a massive amount of freedom in how you approached each combat encounter.

Why were the levels filled with the most pointless food items that change health and salt levels in really really small ways? It was like a RPG concession that made no sense, put some pressure on you through the story to make haste to areas then fill areas with time wasting search functions. yeah but in bioshock 2 it was often a simple factor of playing a horde mode while the little sisters harvested adam.
the plasmids were even more useless in that, especially traps.
bioshock infinite imo has a decent amount of pacing of exploration, story, action and set pieces.
and the skyhook battles most of all are fun as heck.
vigors are really well made imo despite what you said, and the vigor combos give some good variations in gameplay.

did you play the game? her powers were being harnessed by the tower all through the game. all she could do was rip small tears where there already were some (because of her powers being harnessed) when it got destroyed that is when she was able to turn meta.

Actually Booker asked her straight up "Why not make a portal and leave?" to which she replies "I don't know. Something kept calling me back. Family I guess." Keep in mind though that her only contact with the outside world was Songbird and no one else. So she came back because she wanted to be around her jail warden monster. Such a shitty throw away line to make an excuse for one of the major plotholes in this game.
They completely fucked that up nose bleed thing. Elizabeth says they get nosebleeds because they remember being dead, but for that to work they would have died in that universe and came there from another one. Problem is the people getting the nosebleeds didn't die in that universe they go to. The game doesn't explain properly if everything that happened in the previous universe travels with Booker and Elizabeth otherwise the only person that should have gotten nosebleeds is Booker. Also it doesn't explain the other Elizabeths. The second universe has Booker not rescue Elizabeth but join the rebellion and died so is there a second Elizabeth here and shouldn't that be causing issue with space and time?
Just face the facts that Levine had no idea what he was writing because they had to rewrite the whole thing 6 months before the game came out.

That makes no sense in thew context of its own universe. She outright says there's an infinite universe, so in reality she can never kill off Comstock. Levine is an idiot for not taking in all the factors this brings up. Here's a small list:
Booker choosing to get baptized at a different point in time and then going off to become Comstock because it's retarded to think that particular day is special within the infinite multiverse
Booker not getting baptized and becoming the same as Comstock and the same events follow suit

They dedicated so much of the game to Elizabeth they ruined it. Both 1 & 2 had better gameplay and level design. I found myself rushing through my first play through to progress the plot because it was so boring. Linear level design with little to see or do.
