>Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Asia announced they’re shutting down online services for the LittleBigPlanet series in Japan from July 31, 2016.
>This applies for LittleBigPlanet 3 on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3, LittleBigPlanet 2 on PS3, LittleBigPlanet on PS3, LittleBigPlanet Karting on PS3, LittleBigPlanet Portable for PSP, and LittleBigPLanet for PlayStation Vita.
>Again, this announcement comes from Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Asia, and we’ve yet to get any word for the West.
Well, so much for any good stages happening anymore.

Seriously? That fucking sucks, I had some good times in LBP2. Not so much in 3 but still.
>>
I assume LBP wasn't successful in Japan?
>>
>>343305058
It's really British so maybe.

pls no
I probably have well over 1000 hours in each LBP game.

rip sackboy
>>
littlebig planet was the greatest level creator in existence
>>
This better not happen in the West. My girlfriend and I just played through 3 on PS4 the other day and really enjoyed it. Was looking forward to downloading custom maps from people soon.
>>
>>343304881
Source?
>>
>>343305296
Well technically making your own game would be a better creator, but it's pretty fucking good for what it is.

The game was something you played like once with your friends for a couple hours and never went back to. You really can't expect them to keep the servers up for only a dozen people that continue to play
>>
>>343305331
I feel you man, that would be a shame. You should try leaving this site you fucking NORMIE REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>>
>>343305296
Uh no, Super Mario Maker exists.
>>
>>343305405
Sorry man, but that's just you. I had plenty of fun playing on my own.
>>
>>343304881
It's only Japan
Nobody gives a shit
>>
>>343305405
>The game was something you played like once with your friends for a couple hours and never went back to
Speak for yourself.
I spent ages playing on community maps and fiddling around with the level creator.
>>
Really? Man, Chris-chan is going to be heartbroken. http://sonichu.com/cwcki/LittleBigPlanet
>>
>>343305514
Super Mario Bros. X is a better level creator than Mario Maker.
>>
>>343305514
Super Mario Maker wishes it could be half of what LBP is
>>
>>343305514
Are you serious? Super Mario Maker's level creator is for babies.
All you can do is place pre-set blocks.
Meanwhile LittleBigPlanet lets you use materials, pistons, motors, wiring, remote control, camera control, particles and the list goes on.
>>
>>343305604
That's like saying Overwatch wishes it could half of Battleborn
>>
>>343305514
nah, Mario Maker is much worse as a level creator.
but atleast it has good game mechanics unlike LBP
>>
>>343304881
Could they at least release the level creator at least, give the players a chance to make their own communities? Even if its on the PC. Don't get man PSfags i only want you to have the option to keep your geymu.
>>
>>343305712
Nintenyear old can't get over that his baby editor isn't the best around
>>
I've always feared this happening seeing how fucking dead the community has gotten. I can see it happening everywhere else too, I remember playing through lbp2 just a couple weeks before 3 came out and the player base was almost entirely emo kids making small rp levels with a Jap made level here and there with some actual thought put into it.
>>
>>343304881
Apparently there's no plans for the other regions but it still sucks for Japanese fans
>>
>>343305517
>>343305541
Go to bed Chris-chan
>>
>>343305826
If LBP was on pc it would be GOAT
>Modding capabilities
>Easy online play
>60 fps
imagine
>>
>>343305514
Fuck no. Super Mario Maker is the better platformer because LBP's physics suck ass, but it is absolutely in no way the better level creator. Mario Maker is far too limited in what you can do. Meanwhile you can do shit like this in LBP.

>>
>>343305979
>no one enjoyed this game
>yes, actually i did
>SHUT UP YOU'RE STUPID
kill yourself
>>
>>343305604
I loved LBP as well, but Mario Maker levels are far more consistent than the LBP community. Not enforcing things like the grid system, or forcing people to beat their own levels lead to most of them being pure shit.

LBP has a higher threshold for unique, complex ideas, but few people proportionately were capable of taking advantage of that.
>>
Ouch, does this mean japs can't put up their created content anymore? Some of their levels were good even though I never understood them.
>>
>>343305982
So they are just gonna kill it? Just pull the plug and erase all those top tier maps?
>>
>>343305982
It never made sense for it to be a console exclusive. With the 2 first ones being stuck on an already dated console, the game has always been limited both technically and community wise. I fucking hate to see my favorite series die because of that.
>>
>>343305982
Fuck, now I want it. Too bad MM has moved on to another Sony exclusive and the LBP series will NEVER EVER come to PC.
>>
>>343306236
I have a theory about this.
We think that the Japanese mostly make good levels because only the good levels even reach us. We don't notice the rest due to the language barrier.
>>
>>343305405
I can't speak for LBP3, but back in LBP2 some cool people used to hang out in there and were always willing to invite strangers, so they could do those multiplayer exclusive levels.

Itwas pretty fun, and I meet a few good bros there.
>>
>>343306325
Did they ever mention anything related to a pc port?
>>
>>343306478
LBP is owned by Sony and I'm pretty sure MM is too.

>>343306869
a majority of the levels that were shown to everybody were copy pasted trash, nobody csn deny that, but there were still plenty of good ones, you just had to look a little.
>>
Wasn't LPB3 a buggy mess at launch? I remember getting all excited to play my first LPB game when 3 came out, going to the store and finding out that they didn't have any copies (here in mexico there's no point in preordering because they don't get games at launch anyways), going home, and finding all these reviews saying the game was buggy and unfinished.
Bad launches kill online games, it's a similar situation to Halo 5 having barely any content at launch and by consequence getting less players than SW Battlefront even though it's an amazing game.
>>
>>343304881
The third game sucked anyway and we've had five years to have fun with the second. Are people really saddened by this?
>>
>>343307083
LOL
MORTAL KOMBAT
ANGRY BIRDS BOMB SURVIVAL HURR DURR!!
>>
>>343307382
I don't know how it was on PS4 but I can tell you the game should not have been sold to PS3 owners in the state it was, way too fucking laggy.
>>
>>343307429
>we've had five years to have fun with the second

Yeah, spot-on. Who cares if your dog died? You had 15 years to have fun with him, so why grieve?
>>
>>343307504
Fuck I forgot about the millions of bomb survival clones. If I ever made a game with level sharing I'd just not even make copying and reposting a level possible to avoid shit like that.
>>
>>343307504
Way to prove me wrong buddy. Maybe come back when you're not underage.
>>
>>343305145
lmao that happens all the fucking time
>omg ea is shutting down a game's servers
>how dare they... i mean i never once played that game but i feel bad for people who did!
>>
>>343307565
>Implying a video game has the same sentiment and emotion attached to as a living animal
I think you're trying to be sarcastic, but I actually agree with that statement.
>>
>>343307509
The PS4 had early story levels literally play at 0fps at times. The mansion levek ran terribly.
>>
>>343307083
>a majority of the levels that were shown to everybody were copy pasted trash
If anything, I proved you right.

ITS NOT FAIR

It's the same way how PlayStation Home and others went.

I just got LBP3 too on PS4 for 6 bux atleast. Can I even use my shit from the first two games, like GOTY came with MGS4 costumes or all the shit I unlocked?

Yeah I'm pretty sure it all carries over.
