I loved the battle quotes in this game. One of my favorite aspects of the game.

I agree, that was one of the biggest disappointments of XCX. When Lin uses Trash Talk, she literally says "trash talk" out loud. It's the dumbest shit.
Some of the post-battle quotes sound like they might be good, but the sound mixing is so horrible I can't hear what they're saying and there's no audio options to turn music volume down or voice volume up.
I still love the game, though.
The final boss of this game was literally impossible.

I've literally never played a game that felt so GOAT all the way up until the final boss, then became absolute mindless nonsensical trash. I was never able to defeat the final boss because the game is so broken despite me being at max level. Xenoblade Chronicles X made me quit JRPGS for good.

Playing it at a higher resolution with antialiasing (which I believe the WiiU version doesn't have) makes the game much less of a strain on the eyes, the default textures are good enough. That HD texture pack is real hit or miss, the faces all look like complete trash

I dunno, I found the brit voices pretty refershing, but I thought of it as british voices in an anime. Xenoblade's dub is a lot better than the same dozen or so actors used in nearly every anime dub.

See that's the thing that I think it is. Brits praise the dub because for once it's an english localization of japanese media in their own dialect and accent, but to Americans... it sounds off for EVERY character to be British. We like when the British accent is used for an effect, like for one particular character or for a region of the world/faction.
Like in Star Wars, we make the British accent to be the dialect of the Galactic Empire, it's considered an "Imperial Accent", where the Rebels used American accents with a few exceptions.
It was unintentional and just happened to be that way because a lot of the filming was done in the UK so they had a lot of British actors and extras (same reason why all the storm troopers and imperials are white in the original trilogy, which also unintentionally made the Galactic Empire a racist organization, and why a black storm trooper was met with criticism during Episode VII reveals), but it created an effect and we liked that effect.
