the d-pad is the only thing that sonyggers and nintendrones can bring up when it comes to the 360 controller. because it's the only thing that their controllers do better. the 360 controller is the most comfortable and practical ever designed.
>>
>>343271709
Both Sony and Microsoft have made better controllers though. The Xbone controller fixed the shitty d-pad, and the DS4 is somehow even more comfortable than the 360 controller.

its very simple ; SJW

that controller was designed to mimic gun triggers. if u hold it with one hand it feels like a gun handle with trigger

after so many shooting in the land of bugers, they cant do that again

also its durability is due to M$ being 10 years behind competition....so they used heavy hard plastic instead of china plastic like sony

I tried to have this thread earlier, and nobody bit.

It just needs three things...

- A better D-pad, something more rigidly defined.
- Analog buttons for extra capability
- The odd one or two extra buttons, maybe above start and select

We'd never need another standard controller.

Fuking Nintendo

It pisses me off so much that you basically have to buy first party controllers, because the d-pad on those mad catz is even worse than usual due to that. And it screeces most of the time like its broken
>>
>>343274931

Nope, just plug it in and it works like a charm, I think mine is at least seven years old and doesn't have a single mechanical glitch. If anything wireless are bigger hassle, since you also need to buy dongle for them and then it has problems connecting sometimes.
>>
>>343274882

Xbone controllers major problem is shoddy quality. Google it if you don't believe me, lots of people are having problems with them breaking after very little actual use. Older models in particular pretty much had a 100% failure rate.
>>
>>343274752
>Bad analog sticks that wear down like butter
A myth. Had it for 2 years now, no wear and still comfortable to hold.

>triggers with no push that can be activated just by placing controller down
What does that even mean? And no, they don't activate when you put it down.

>retarded useless touchpad that also moves option button to uncomfortable position
Touchpad 's entirely optional, works well in DS4Windows to use as a mouse. And also, is THAT an uncomfortable position for your thumb? How much of a midget are you?

>share button
Again, optional on windows, you can remap it to anything. Also PS4 recording the last X amount of your games and being able to access them easily is neat.

> massive light that does nothing but make it awkward shape
Awkward shape? No. You can also disable the light on PC. I can understand this criticism for PS4 though as they didn't implement a way to turn it off so far, afaik.

> the slope on usb slot making it easy to accidentally snap your connector
I'll give you this as well, the connector could be more sturdy. But if you actually snapped your connector, you must have the intellegence of an ape.

>still built for small baby hands
I have average size hands and it very comfortable, much more than the 360. 360 is bulky, whereas DS4 feels nice to hold.

>requires third party software to use with a pc
And that third party software is amazing and has so much customizability. Not a downside at all.

Overall, all your gripes seem to be minor. It's a great controller, one of the best I've used so far.
>>
>>343275478

The hilarious part is that premium elite controller (the one where you can swap parts around) still runs off AA batteries and has gained a reputation for falling apart.
>>
>>343275775

The Xbone controllers are made from some shit tier plastic. You can unclip them to take them apart, but once you do the clips permanently deform and they never clip back together properly, so you're left with a controller that feels like it could fall apart in your hands.
>>
>>343274090
My gut is telling me "lol 3rd party stay away" but is it really that bad? It actually seems kinda nice... Wanna try it for PC...

>The 360 is bulky
And the ds4 is way too flimsy. Feels too light weight. Too small for comfort. Sure you can fit your whole hand over it but I believe its better to have a control that better fits the hand, and you need something larger for that
>>
I haven't tried an Xbone or PS4 controller yet, but I hate the PS3 controller.

360 wired is what I use on PC.
>>
Instead of a right analog stick, use a trackball.
>>
>>343276060

I actually bought one as my dualshock 3 I was using on my PC is taking a serious beating (it is best part of a decade old) and that controller is what I settled on after doing my research.

To me it feels responsive and sturdy and could easily pass off as a first party controller. There are a fair few youtube reviews of it (though many focus on its usage with phones) but the general points of how feels iis the same regardless of what its plugged into. For what its worth windows detects it as a 360 controller and thus just werksâ„¢

The same way you press XYBA while moving the right thumbstick on a standard Xbox360 controller you can't

But also you could hypothetically bind one of those four buttons to the hidden two button flaps on the other side too.
>>

I used a steam controller for 50 hours of dark souls 3. It's really nice, I don't get the hate. It takes a bit to get used to but I ended up enjoying it more than my 360 controller
>>
>>343271709
Dualshock is objectively superior because of symmetrical thumb sticks. The location of the left Xbox thumb stick is actually hella not fucking ergonomic for your thumb/wrist, but the right is. A well designed controller would have symmetrical sticks because you have symmetrical hands.

i really don't know. especially with microsoft.
>>
its quite simple. microsoft has the money to throw away at designing the perfect controller. the funniest thing is that all this time, theyve just been using the dreamcast controller as the base and modifying it, adding more things. sega pioneered the ultimate controller while microsoft adjusted it to perfection with the 360 and xbone. little weeaboo sonyggers and autistic pony fucking nintendrones still get butthurt that xbox will always have the best controller.

it's the most comfy controller. if you replace the triggers with 360 triggers, and the bumpers with 360 bumpers, and the d-pad with a ds d-pad, it would be perfect
>>

>>
>>343286227
this. i would give the ps4 controller the edge because i kinda prefer the sticks (not the placement, just the sticks themselves). but i can never get over those fucking terrible triggers and cheap material they used. i had to buy 2 extra dualshocks because the r2 broke, from pressing it so much. my launch ds lasted a few months. the second ds broke in early 2015. and im on the third and last one i will ever be buying now. if this fucking pile of garbage breaks again, fuck it.

meanwhile, my launch xbone controller is still completely fine. i dont have to worry about delicately pressing the right trigger and am free to mash it. still has its full range, the sticks arent made of dog shit and are still there in one piece, plastic is heavier and nicer.

fuck the ps4 and its shit controller. xbox until the end.
