Have you ever seen the show Planetes? Because with every day that has gone by since it aired in 2003 I grow more convinced that it had the right idea. The future is going to be the same shit. Companies will still be owning more of people's lives than the used to, the first world will be pulling even further ahead of the third in terms of ability to exploit advantageous resources, people will still be willing to kill for overly simplified ideologies that ultimately do nothing to further their actual cause and ultimately, life will go on. We might have some cooler technology on our side and we might be a step closer to the sci-fi wonderland we all want to live in but ultimately we're going to be annoyingly close to where we are now.
