God Hand has my all-time favorite boss fights in it.
Depends what you want out of boss fights. If you want grandeur you probably want jRPGs or something, but if you're looking for fun that's up to personal preference. I really like action games for their boss fights, and can't stand turn based RPGs, but a lot of people list final boss fights as their favorite so to each their own.
Side scrollers are also up there, I enjoy the Megaman X bosses quite a bit.

DMC has a lot of bad bosses. That bird fucker in DMC 1 with the broken camera, all of DMC 2's bosses, Arkham in DMC 3, that pope in DMC 4

Yeah, I can agree with 1, 2 and 3. I liked a majority of 3's bosses, but Geryon and Arkham were terrible.
I did like all of 4's bosses though, they all had potential for being really stylish. Besides the savior battle with Dante, that was kind of stale.Other than RGing the beam, it was no fun jumping around platforms.

I'm with you on JRPGs. It's hard to take a supposed tough and intimidating boss fight seriously in a JRPG when your MC is scrawny teenage boy and among your party, there's a loli and animal mascot. Very out of place IMO. Also turn-based is boring as hell.
