What was the point of Obfuscate tripling your melee damage, anyway? Pretty much every enemy that you couldn't instagib with a stealth kill could see through your Obfuscate anyway.

I'm pretty sure it tripled damage done to you if you were attacked while in Obfuscate. I remember that happening with one of the powers at least.

why the fuck does this game get praise, i tried it once and it was a garbage indie mod with shitty RPG mechanics that didn't work. it was fucking broken

On my first playthrough the boss battle with that vampire hunter in the cave glitched and he just went into the t pose so the fight was over pretty quickly but in my most recent playthrough I actually got to do the fight and it's pretty cool. Moving from cover to cover to actually get to him and then him doing his cross attack that blinds you. Did he have true faith? I can't remember if it was said in the game or not.
I really do want another game in the setting though. It's so cool but I have nobody to play the pnp game with. Hopefully we'll get one in the next few years.

Why do people complain about the sewer level ? There's several places in it where you can exit back to the city. If you're tired of it you can exit and do optional quests.
It's not a tedious level and not even that long too.

I JUST realized that the reason the Nossie player becomes an S&M gremlin as he gets better armor is to partially hide his deformities and to make what is visible stand out less and seem like part of the costume. For the longest time I just thought he was a weirdo.

Honestly I was jazzed about the sewer level. I finally had an opportunity to fight. The first half of the game is just a slew of "stealth only, no killing allowed" missions. I mean I get that diplomatic or stealthy options should be there, but I don't feel like you should be penalized in exp for taking the combative route.

I think it's a weapon added in the plus version of the patch right? I don't know. If I was using it it was probably because it was the best weapon I had.
I also used theuzito kill the asian chick and the fish guy. It might not do much damage per shot but it's by far the fastest firing weapon in the game which offsets that.

I haven't read the rule book in a while but I think that is actually an ability you have with higher obfuscate levels. I don't think Nosferatu can use it though since the ugliness is a curse that keeps the power from working.

Well often just slaughtering everything makes the missions a lot easier so it makes since you'd get less experience for going the easy way.

Not really. Combat is typically the harder way to go about it. Pretty much every clan has a way to cheese the stealth missions. For example spamming trance or nightwisp ravens, celerity sneaking, or just flat-out obfuscating past everything.
Where can I learn/read more about this game's lore? I've played the game twice but never sought out anything beyond it.

Go download the 20th anniversary release rulebook for the pnp game. It has a lot of lore in it. There's also a bunch of official books you could read.

I'm just confused as to how they are tie into the werewolf dieties and the abrahamic gods and everything else. Idk how the WoD universe apparently ties in together and I've been told by hardcore fans that they shouldn't have mixed all the settings together because it's a mess.

The fae and changelings in OWoD were different to the ones in NWoD. The Dreaming was almost an explicitly happy WoD splat. The Lost is bleak as fuck.
The true fae in CtL are basically extradimensional beings that steal people for their own amusement and turn them into twisted half-fae things through repeated torments.
The true fae fit in because they're basically every whimsical trickster deity in existence. Also, possibly the origin of the little green man alien myth.

They're attuned to the Wyld and most strongly opposed to the Weaver, though I don't think they believe un or acknowledge the werewolf triat as such.
They're pretty much on their last legs since the Weaver is ascendant in the final nights and the wyrm is doing its best to destroy them (and everything else) as well.
Despite how goofy some things look, old Changeling is pretty awful if played the way it's meant to. It's a race that's slowly dying a cold and miserable death and there's almost nothing they can do to stop it, no apocalyptic event to fight against.
