I liked HR (the original game is much better however) but nothing of what I've seen gets me very hyped. They seem to be repeating HR's flaws with the shitty takedown and XP system as well as no real revival of the skill system. We've had a very limited look at the level design. The big thing that has me worried though is the extent of the delay, it could indicate the game was seriously fucked only a few months off the original release. That and how subdued the marketing is makes me think they might be worried it'll be a stinker.
Story wise I agree with everybody saying the apartheid shit looks boring, and I hope it's not as central to the plot as the trailer suggest. Adam trying to unravel and defeat the Illuminati (potentially setting off the chain for MJ12's coup) should be a plot to carry the game in itself, and there are much more interesting themes to present than 'discrimination sux'. To their credit at least they show augs are actually dangerous.

HR was pretty shitty desu. Shitty gameplay, shitty writing, shitty aesthetic and just a shitty fagggy SJ feel instead of the excellent dark cyberpunk 1984 future world.
It did a few things right, sometime I was like "okay that didn't suck dick" and it was easily one of the best AAA games of its shitty time but it's still pretty bad overall and compared to the original.
The fact that they're making HR 2 is a red flag for me. I'd feel much better if they had the guts to do something with the series but I think they just want more money from HR fans and not really make something that live up to Dues Ex. And even if they had the intention, I doubt they have what it takes to deliver something.
I think it will be decent game with a good atmosphere but it will fall short of any Dues Ex fan expectations.

Seems like rather than using Deus Ex as a template/aspiration like they seemingly did with HR, they're just using HR as their gold standard. It's a very deliberate choice to suit the audience who have no knowledge of the first, just look at how many HR fans there are on /v/ alone who have either never played the original or are too dumb to get past the first level. To be fair, HR does have a lot of stupid design choices. I mean, DX isn't perfect either, but HR is worse in a lot of ways, and there's no reason for it to be. Mass rioting and a police state don't suddenly appear instantaneously without cause. Hell, even the Ferguson shitstorm was after a long history of tensions. Segregation makes a ton of sense as a prelude to an overwhelming police state in this situation because augs are VERY dangerous, even non-military augs as a result of the bad chips in HR.
Widespread disdain for augs leads to other issues, further terrorism, further deception and fear. There were minor teases to a conspiracy in HR, this one will start to really pull on those threads. You can't just blow your load early and then have a whole franchise following the revealed conspiracy.

Mildly, HR was okay, equally janky as the original, just in different ways. My main problems with HR were the arbitrary XP rewards, and that it pretty much forces you to play stealthily. The latter I think is because they had to balance the game around the dumb health regen, which means Jensen has to die in 2 bullets by default, or you could just tank everything without care.
