It's because he hand draws everything and he doesn't skimp on animation quality. He uses a technique only used by companies employing dozens of artists at a time because it's so time consuming.
He's either too poor (or too cheap) to hire people to do it, and has a dayjob he probably works 40 hours a week at. He draws because he likes to draw, and refuses to crowdfund his art so he can do it full time or at least part time and instead just draws when he has free time.

I mean, his animations were of the adventures of him and his friends, something that genuine doesn't really exist anymore, it's a remnant of something long gone.
