It's not shit though. At stock speeds it performs about as good as overclocked GTX 970s and R9 390s.
For $200-$250 it's a hell of a card for 99% of gamers because 99% of gamers aim at 1080p 60fps, which makes the top tier cards like GTX 1070 and 1080 overkill for them.
You can crossfire 2 RX 480s and get better performance than the GTX 1080 for a fraction of the price.

I think the issue lies with how badly AMD themselves hyped it up like it would be equal to the 1070 and easily overclock to 2x the power of the 1080 when it's flat out a budget card with budget performance. Being exactly what it is is fine but they lied and implied it was way more.
