Is the horror genre finally dead? Is there any upcoming game that could legit save it?
Mighty No 9 just came out last week dude

It's dead because of shit like pt and amnesia.
There is Outlast 2.

What happened to Routine?
It looked promising but it's been a while since i heard anything about it. Also, should I play Cry of Fear or is it a waste of time?

They keep saying they're still doing it but who knows at this point...
We will have to wait until the walking simulator/indie shit dies out before market forces tell developers people want "real" horror games again.
RE7 was pretty spooky.
Aside from that, yeah not a lot has come out, has it?
I've honestly been thinking of making my own indie horror game for awhile. I'm not expecting it to be big or anything, but I just want to bring back proper survival horror again.

i'm pretty sure there's still a bunch of no self-defense-allowed dark hallway simulators out there

Not dead. There's a lot of good horror games out there, even from this generation. You just have to look deeper, Anon. Have faith.
