As somebody who loves the first game's story better than 2 and 3, I will say yes, BUT (and that is a big BUT) you have to beware a couple things.
>every single time you get a new party member, get them to Magicant to grind. They start rather underleveled, and holy fuck is this game a grindfest.
>Be sure to always have some sort of map you can find online. I usually don't say this, but the fucking desert and the duncan factory are way too big and they lack landmarks of any kind
>there are 2 Franklin Badges. This is useful to know because Franklin Badge reflects PK Beam
>This is the only game in the trilogy to have PK Beam. And PK Beam Gamma is a One Hit KO. And random encounters late game tend to have that a lot.
Play the GBA patch by the way. The music suffers a bit, but it makes the game easier and gives you an actual dedicated run button.

Honestly, this was my favorite part of this game. This was the only pic I could find, so only focus on the scene. And yeah, this game was an annoying grindfest but some things were actually nice to see.

Game takes place before Mother 2. You will definitely appreciate Mother 2 more after playing mother 1. However, if you don't emulate it, you'll have an awful time with the grind. To fix awful grind

>Grind at lightning fast speeds until you one shot enemies in certain areas.
Takes a little to get used to, especially with menu navigating. But it makes the game more enjoyable for those who want to avoid old school Japanese grinds.

If you don't mind the obtuse old RPG mechanics (think early DQ or FFI), it can be a fun ride. Huge overworld where you can do things out of order. The easy EXP patch cheapens the experience for me but >>343217124 is probably right about using a map for some areas.

Only realized this when I heard the non-jazzy version of the song initially when I entered in the club, and then laughed my ass off as to why itoi decided this was acceptable club music. Spent about 5 minutes analyzing the score, then made the connection.
