Kingdom hearts establishes these rules and thens hits on them constantly.
This is how it works, if you become an inhuman and evil fag your heart leaves you and becomes a heartless and goes around fucking shit up.
Your body, missing it's mythical "reality" organ known as a heart is rejected by the universe and fades into a limbo world of non-existence.
Xehanort fucks this rule up because he transfers his heart into some kids body, his own old balding body disappears indicating that it became a nobody.
Terra-Xehanort with only half his memories or some shit splits a bunch of people into heartless/nobodies including himself. His nobody, Xemnas, fucks shit up even more by whipping nobodies into some sort of Bleach inspired organization and go escape non-existence to fuck shit up.
Basically everyone gets a nobody when their body fades from existence, because nobodies are actually bodies.
The issue here is Xehanort left his body to jump into another fags body and then split that body. By the games logic, Ansem is a fusion of Terra and Xehanort's heartless because it's Two hearts, unless Terra's heart fucked off somewhere else. But since Terra-Xehanort's body is Terra's, then that means Xemnas is Terra's nobody.
But it's not, because it's somehow still Xehanort.
This only makes sense if Xehanort not only put his heart into Terras, but became a TRUE fusion of both so that neither of them are different people anymore.
But the game implies Terra's heart is still alive and kicking.
Also Xehanort can now cut little pieces of his heart and put them in people, which makes it even more confusing.
Nevermind that Sora is technically a heartless in the second game, since his real body is Roxas.
Shit makes less sense than Nuraku from Inuyasha when trying to determine the mechanics of one being many.
