So are gamingchairs worth it?

My old office chair is a bit too low in height, then I saw they sell gaming chairs in my local pc store for only 300€ so i'm wondering are they worth it? You see many streamers and pro gamers use them so i'm wondering what's the deal with them
>>
Ditch the chair and get a table that you can use while standing.
>>
>>343165705
im not standing like some fucking slave
>>
>"gamer" branded overpriced flashy thing

>>343165839
well its very egonomic and it looks sweet of course but yeah maybe a 300 dollar office chair would be a good idea too but those arent designed for gaming
>>
>>343165494

I bought a maxnomic because they have better shaped ones and better quality

Expensive as fuck but I'm satisfied, very adjustible and seems like it'll last.
For the record, at best I could spend the same money on some mediocre office chair which is about half as adjustable.
>>
>>343165494
I like mine. Had it for a few years now.

Lots of shit posting about these chairs though. I prefer it over the Steelcase chairs I've tried/used. They're firm chairs.
>>
I just want a chair I can sit in all day without the fucking cushions deflating after a month, is that so hard to ask?

What does that even mean? You're sitting on a chair, there is difference between playing video games or doing office work or whatever.

Sadly its either soft-foam padding that feels good at the beginning but deflates if you sit too long in it and goes to shit in a few months - or firm/hard foam thats not nearly as comfy as the soft ones - but atleast keeps its shape.
Can get used to the latter

Here's the best kept secret in chairs: Go find literally any old traditional high back wooden chair at an estate sale, yard sale, etc. doesn't matter as long its real wood and buy a wheelchair cushion for it.
>>
Why do they even go with "racer" design?
Racer seats are SUPER uncomfortable and hard as fuck.
Now trucker or bus driver seats are very comfortable.
>>
>>343166607

For the record, the people who buy the pictured knockoffs are the ones who fuck themselves over the most
Some of the brands are low quality, some of them are better, all of them offer more in features than that thing and even the worse of them will last longer.

>>343166791

But a chair won't be comfortable or ergonomic at all just because its wood.
I wouldn't buy a chair without all-adjustable handrests at all.
>>
>>343165768

Well eletric tables are also great with chairs, as you can also adjust the height of the table to be perfect for you. I usually try to do all my work while standing and sit while gaming. It's good for your back!
>>
>>343165494
>You see many streamers and pro gamers use them so i'm wondering what's the deal with them

That's because sponsors, no one needs a fucking racing chair for gaming. All the shit they use has been given to them through promotions to get commercial advertisements. My old chair was very much like that
The plastic handrests kept breaking since they hold the back and nothing else, so even just sitting back in the chair will strain the weak plastic handrests.
Still, I fixed it up again and again because it was pretty big and comfy, the padding disappeared in 5 years and replaced the handrests with entirely different ones and fixed the back to the seat in a different way.

It was an ok purchase. A little high on price but it's been pretty durable. Survived my 260lbs brother when other chairs will lose a leg or wheels. I just wish I bought the wider one since my nephew or I fall asleep on it.

The "so" is that you can buy a chair for a price - or you can buy a chair pretending to be a better chair for a price.

Most streamers and gaming youtube channel owners get these chairs for free, for the reason you mentioned. Their free chairs are paid for by you paying the inflated price.

No they aren't worth the price at all, you can get unknown branded char for $100 that is just as good, if not better.

If you're the kind of person that will pay double the price for a t-shirt due to a brand name however, then yet go for it. You will "feel" it being worth it from that.

Bought a $150 office chair from a local store, less than a year the fabric was ripping and the hydraulics stopped working. I'm 6 foot and 200 lbs with a long back so I bought a dxracer tank series for $450 because most office chairs you're only supposed to sit in for around 3-7hrs a day. It hasn't been a year yet but I'm hoping that the hydraulics last more than a 2 years. The bucket seat takes a bit to get used to but it's pretty comfy. The extra lumbar support helps a lot too if you have a long back.

"Gaming" chairs are garbage toys made for children. You have to be a real fucking moron to actually waste money on one because you're paying 2-3x the price because they branded it with "gaming".

Buy a real office chair instead. The more money you spend, the happier you'll be. A good chair will last you decades. A gaming chair will last you 2-3 years if you're lucky.

Their featureset is triple that of an ikea chair, and while I can't vouch for the quality on all of them - they sure as fuck will be tougher than the cheapest ikea shit you can buy granted very simply thanks to their construction.

Gaming shit may make these chairs overpriced - but even priced correctly they are ABOVE in both quality and price than what you are suggesting.

We use ones much like the second one you posted, 500€ or so (we have 3 different types but they are mostly the same)

dude no joke, i thought that chair looked like fucking shit when i first saw it but so many people hyped it up i had to see what it was about. I went to an ikea and sat in one, i'll be damned if it isn't the most comfortable chair i ever sat in. seriously if you have an ikea nearby go try it.

I bought the king series dxracer chair because I needed something that can support my fat ass

Not a fan of the racer look but the chair itself is comfortable
