After trying endlessly with tons of mods to improve the "gaming experience" of Fallout 4, i've came to realize that the game is completely and totally unreedemable, and not even a thousand mods could possibly improve that game to near acceptable levels.

Most annoying shit I've ever played. I had to find a way to teleport back to the mojave after like 5 hours of blowing up and getting lost. Literally every little fucking move you make kills you and you constantly have sensory shit driving you insane. I used console commands to go to the strip and it fucking corrupted my file.
Are the other Dlcs better? I lost an entire character because dead money was such utter shit. I seriously have never encountered gameplay as annoying and agitating as that. The characters were cool but not worth the headache. It makes me hesitant to start up any other dlcs if I'm just going to have to corrupt my file to escape

as a professional programmer here let me explain how actual programming works, you frequently reuse well understood functions.
Here you see something that was original used in morrow wind perhaps it was used to calculate damage, you input some attack and other parameters and it processes it and spits out how much damage you take.
This same exact formula may be reused in in multiple games, so you reuse the same code rather than rewriting it for no reason. It may have variable names that don't make sense for the current game but that doesn't matter, as long as the correct data is input, and the correct data is output.
Renaming a bunch of variable names doesn't matter because it only has context within the function and programmers shouldn't have to look at the code and figure out what it does because it should be very well understood after large amount of use in previous software and relatively bug-free after bug-fixing the previous program(s) it was used in (I know this is a Bethesda game, but I'm saying in general).

I prefer the compromise on VA if you plan to do it.
You can have the VA do some major story quests, but otherwise you just get text.

After replaying all the DLCs I've come to prefer Dead Money over Lonesome Road. I'd rather have survival horror with great characters and meaningful choices than FFXIII with an irredeemable unsympathetic one-sided villain. ED-E adorable story and Riot Armor are the only good things about LR.
