playing 2 at release felt really jarring. had some elements of the first game but a lot of other shit that didn't need to be tacked on. like the visor shaped hud for some reason, the crosshair lightning up like a christmas tree when you scored hits, and the removal of leaning. didn't feel like FEAR that much.

Feels like your playing as a truck. I loved that the new map trailer had footage of a breach and cleae which is absolutelt impossible in arma because of how poor the movement system is. You can get through a door without snagging on something and moving up stairs is 50% chanve you clip into the void and 50% you play twister until you move up the steps.

Yeah, it might be advertised as the same game on PC, but it's not, it's never been, the PC version has been much better, higher player counts on servers, better graphics, less cod rejects that just do 24/7 Metro, ect.

Playing on PC, there's still a lot of the COD misfits that think anything beyond CQC infantry is a bug to be removed and 24/7 Metro/Locker TDM, but there's plenty of huge Conquest large maps that are very vehicle focused like Golmud railway and Dragon's Pass in BF4.

Maybe that's because you're too used to the laser accurate hitscan bullshit of most FPS games. The actual gunplay of ARMA is great, it's just very different if you're jumping directly from like COD or even Insurgency to ARMA. It's what happens when you're average engagment distance goes from like 15 meters to 300 meters.

What does hitscan have to do with how shitty Armas movement/guns are? Good bullet drop and physics doesnt explain away how awful it feels to move. Even the smallest rock can cause you to stand up and get shot if you move too close to it.

Dying Light has a fantastic movement system, but shit gunplay because the weapons are ass, sights are misaligned, weak statistically, weak sounding and visually. Just because you've got a great movement system that feels good and behaves well doesn't mean you've got good or even decent gunplay.

Except now you're able to do a lot more indirect stuff, so it changes the relation of you and your enemies. Now you don't actually need to shoot to kill them, demeaning the actual shooting part of the game because now you're tossing grenades at them instead. You no longer have to take those unknown corners, so you have subtlety changed the gunplay by that definition quite a bit because of the change you've made to the nature of the combat with the introduction of grenades.

Or would you say that the way you use weapons and thus the gunplay isn't affected at all by grenades in COD, or if you had grenades in DOOM 1?
