I know that feel. Partially because at 3,400 games I'm reaching the point where the only stuff left is weeb garbage and early access survival games, but there are still a few games I want and the discounts aren't good.

0% off Exanima what bullshit is this.

>>
>>343134968
1 or 2? I've only played 2, and I would strongly recommend it if you're willing to get past having to rebind some of your controls and a bit of a difficulty spike in the early game. Idk about System Shock 1, but from what I've heard it's very good.
>>
Is grim fandango worth it?
>>
>>343135119

AoW3's excellent, but it's best with the expansions. They add quite a lot to the game, even though vanilla has had significant patches and updates I'd probably say hold off on it until you wanna go whole hog.*

*Although you could buy vanilla and play just shy of 2 hours of it and then decide if you wanna refund or pick up the DLC.

>>343135298

I bought it for around $30 from gray market and got around 30 hours out of it, 100%ing all achievements and secrets and challenges and shit. Really enjoyed it.

>>343135478

Good stealth, eh. Well here's a quick rundown on some good stealth games that aren't huge names.

Styx
Invisible Inc (Turn based tactics stealth, but it really nails the stealth aspect. Would still highly recommend it as a stealth game)
Neon Struct (Pretty basic but still reasonably good stealth game)
This War of Mine (Not entirely stealth, but if you go after hostile areas you can get some good sneaking and murdering)

Not a big list but I'm just pulling it out of my ass at a moment's notice.

>>343135549

Hard to say with any accuracy. I run card idling shit so I've got hours on tons of indie garbage I don't care about, and my Steam account is older than when they started permanently tracking time played so some of my older shit doesn't have any time listed. I do play a bunch of it though, cracking 100 hours on a game is a relatively rare occurrence for me, and only my top 15-20ish games are that much.

>>
>>343137161

Not really, it's a lot smaller scale and more clearly gamey. There are really specific and concrete rules in Invisible Inc so generally speaking you'll know exactly what's going to happen if you plan shit out. Commandos (As I remember, been ages so I could be fucking up) is realtime with pause so there's more wiggle room for shit to go bad. You also control smaller squads in Invisible Inc, IIRC 4 is max size but 2 and 3 are more common. Again could be fucked up memory but I remember Commandos being a smidge larger than that.

I bought all of Life is Strange and it's honestly such an incredible game. I've wanted it since I saw the Giant Bomb quick look the morning of the game coming out, but I hate getting into something that hasn't come to a conclusion yet. Long overdue, but I somehow avoided all spoilers and went into it almost entirely blind.

I don't know why the game has such a negative reputation around here. Sure, hella and tumblr shit come to mind, but it's honestly a fantastic game. It had one of the most unique ways of storytelling I've ever seen. The reverse time mechanic was honestly so well done.

I haven't played through Remember Me since I got it on that SEGA free games giveaway, but I'm about to. I love this developer.

>>343141091
Out of those? For me personally I'd have to say Shovel Knight as long as you're in the mood for platforming. Pillars was fun, but it's a very story heavy RPG so be prepared to read a lot. Darkest Dungeon is ok but very grindy which could be viewed as something positive or negative depending on your taste.

Thought the same thing until the 5th episode when it came apparent that none of the choices i made mattered besides the last one. I know I sound like a whiny bitch and that i should understand the ending had meaning behind it but I don't.

You literally either kill the person you have been saving the whole game and reverse everything you did making it pointless, you are also left unsure what actually happens. Or you let her live and keep the choices you made and you are left unsure what actually happens.

But it did give us Kate so...

It was definitely more of a "journey" more than the "destination" thing. I didn't mind the endings so much because even though whatever you did ultimately didn't matter much in terms of what happens, it did have a pretty big effect on how you felt about the ending(s). At least that's the way I see it.

I JUST finished it, and I chose to let the town get fucked because I wanted to see who all would survive through the tornado. I'm about to go back and see the ending for sacrificing Chloe, but god damn, I think that's gonna be super sad and don't really want to.

I can see your position on the whole "nothing really matters outside of the main story choices" considering all of the minor choices you go through don't really result in anything. Warren is always smitten. Alyssa (or whatever the fat chick's name is who you tell to get the fuck out of the way from dumb shit) actually dies because of the fact you always tell her to get out of the way from shit happening, Vanessa is a bitch throughout the whole game despite trying to be nice to her. The artistic fat dude doesn't need to be in the game for any reason. The nerdy science chick who is way into Warren serves no purpose except for telling you that the psychotic kid isn't in the dorms isn't home so you can go snoop in his room. The teachers outside of hipstercunt are basically pointless.

But I guess it's more about just taking the story for what it is and not breaking everything down and analyzing it for the minor things. In the end it was still a really great story to me, so I guess I'm just more willing to look over things than you.
>>
>>343135729
Just pirate them if you're cheap. Wizardy devs won't get any money from you buying it on Steam, and the Terraria people are already super rich.

>>
>>343143527
i found the game extremely comfy if that's something youre into.

aside from that i thought that the game gets a bit old after you get enough supplies to survive. after a point it just becomes about walking around searching through stuff that you have no more room left for.

its an early access game so it might get better later on. i havent seen the price any lower than this though.

>>

I really enjoyed Doom. As a diehard fan of the original two games (I disown the third shitfest), it's as close as a return to form as possible with a near-AAA budget. Looks great if you have the rig for it. MP is functional but bland and SnapMap has not endeared me at all. It's mostly the campaign which took me 10 ish hours to beat at Ultra-Violence difficulty with about half to two-thirds of collectables.

Stellaris has a great early game and a "meh" mid game. I torrented it and played two rounds and felt like I had my appettite filled. Worth it for 10 bucks imho but not the 30-40 USD

XCOM 2 was more X COM. If you loved the last one, you should grab it.

I beat it in around 12-14, but I enjoyed myself so much I instantly replayed it. I think I'm sitting at around 35 hours now. I loved the game, and rarely want to play it again. I hope it gets a sequel or some single player content.

DBZ Xenoverse?

This sale is objectively shit. Look up Steam database records for nearly any worthwhile AAA game from the last decade and a half, and nearly all of them are running at significantly worse sales than they used to.

IE:

Fallout 3 GOTY: https://steamdb.info/app/22370/

Currently only 40 fucking % off, peak sale price was 75%. ($4.99 vs $11.99 garbage)

Skyrim: https://steamdb.info/app/72850/

Currently 50% off, peak was also 75%. ($4.99 vs current $9.99)

Morrowind: https://steamdb.info/app/22320/

Another 40% off versus 75% off peak. ($4.99 vs $8.99, $9 for a fucking 15 year old game unbelievable.)

Just Cause 2: https://steamdb.info/app/8190/

75% off instead of 85% ($2.24 vs $3.74)

Assassin's Creed Director's Edition: https://steamdb.info/app/15100/

Currently 50% off, peak was 75% ($4.99 vs $9.99)

Assassin's Creed II Deluxe Edition: https://steamdb.info/app/33230/

Same as AC1

Etc etc

The list goes on and on.

Steam sales have become literal garbage. It is not just us, and it is not that we have all the good games. It's that game prices just aren't being cut as deep as they have historically been. I am fucking done with buying direct from Steam. I will be exclusively buying off 3rd party key retailer sites like cd-keys and G2A. Fuck it. Fuck the companies.
>>
>>343134968
Buy both, they're fantastic games.

Can anyone recommend a fun online MP shooter?

>>
>>343147028

Might want to skip that one. Overall game design was poor to start with but when you factor in the (likely) nonexistent playerbase for a MP co-op title, you'll just be stuck with bots grinding for gear that's useless without competitive MP. Or at least Co-Op to show your e-dick to someone.

Insurgency felt like a mix between red orchestra and call of duty for me. It has the PTSD inducing sound and weapon feel of RO without the gore but is more close quarters like call of duty. It's usually pretty cheap during sales.

>>
>>343147648

If you liked Xcom EU/Enemy Within, 2 is pretty much a straight up upgrade. The procedural maps make it even more replayable, and it has less focus on scripted story missions. Not even going in to things like far better class balance and base management.

If you don't feel like more of that though, not really worth grabbing. The missions are faster paced due to the time constraints (Since you're the underdog terrorism force you've gotta go fast, which means almost never overwatch crawling except in a few mission types) but it's still the same basic gist.
>>

Most of those prices were at last winter's sale. Summer sales just aren't as good for some reason.
>>
>>343147932
actually with the fourth mainline game on it's way to pc next week it's likely going to stay this low every sale, like 2 and 1 before it
>>
>>343147880

It's your current best bet for a fun online shooter, though. Blowing $40 on Overwatch is better than buying some $3 indie garbage that has no players and you get 5 matches out of it during the Steam sale rush and that's it.

If you want to get into 4X here are a few interesting titles starting with the cheapest:

>Sword of the stars I complete collection $2.49, 75%
>Endless legend collection $13.87, 67%
>Distant worlds universe $29.99, %50

There is also stellaris but it is better to wait for all the DLC to be bundled with the base game for a lower price.
>>
>>343148797

Stellaris is grand strategy, you're not fooling anyone /gsg/.
>>
>>343135053
inb4 pretending to be retarded, but none of the sale prices will go lower. There are no flash sales or dailies.
>>
>>343135119
AoW3 is amazing. Still play it more than any other 4x I've bought, including civ, the Endless games, and Stelaris's weird half-4x-half-grand-strat-all-no-content.
>>
>>343147949
No, if you could read, you'd see I said I already bought it.

I was wondering if I had made a mistake or not because I've never played them before.
>>
>>343148919
It has a fair amount of 4X elements in the mix though I do agree it borrows a fair amount from grand strategy games.

Sword of the stars I complete collection for 2.49 is a steal. I've clocked hundreds of hours on it. Such a fun game, particularly love their research and RTS combat.

A simple description would be total war in space. Don't bother with sword of the stars 2 it had great potential but was a tremendous flop, the devs pretty much dropped the ball on it, no updates nothing.
>>
>>343136524
Witcher 3 is fine, don't listen to him. It's not the second coming of christ like some people make it out to be, but it's a decent game.

Rocket league is fun, but yeah you're gonna want friends to play league matches with. Cross play means console shitters. My gamebro plays with controller despite being on PC, and made an autistic fucking excel sheet showing over 200 matches that the team with more (in 3v3s) console players has a 70%+ probability of losing.
