What are the best JRPGs on the PS3?
i love a good jrpg as much as anyone but I find I often have to go emulate older systems to get quality jrpgs.

You can buy some good ones on PSN though like the SMT games and some Final Fantasies

Don't you ever recommend this fucking garbage. Especially for a SRPG. It feels like it is a bunch of left overs from other games slapped together.
The combat is slow and sluggish, even when speeding it up. The turn order bar means absolutely nothing as enemies just take turns and move up in the order for no reason.
You progress through levels only to backtrack all the way to the beginning, 2 squares at a time and there are 20-30 squares. There is very little to explore in the "hidden" areas and most the time it is an extra weapon. When going to get the extra stuff it will most likely get you killed as it spawns more enemies and you can be one shot for the turn order bar issue.
The story is uninspired, you are an adventurer that found something that will destroy humanity and you have to stop it. They also throw in some region vs non religion crap.
The graphics look like dog shit for a ps3/ps4/vita game.
I also don't like the controls very much, multiplayer is a card game that has nothing to do with the story, over world map has issues and it's music sounds like zelda game soundtracks mashed together.
I only like the lackluster skill tree because you can turn skills on or off woth points instead of permanently setting them, allowing for customization before any area.
Save your money.

Lost Dimension is pretty great, and relatively unknown.
Plays similar to Valkyria Chronicles. Has some of the writers from SMT series.
Basically, every "floor", a member of the team plans to betray your party. You have to figure out who, and vote them out at the end of the floor. It's randomized, and every character is fleshed out with reasons to do it.
I don't consider anything that's not anime stuff a jrpg. Dragon's Dogma and Demon's Souls definitely are not jrpgs.

Sadly most JRPGs left on the PS3 era leaving only crap behind.
Lost Odyssey went to the 360 along with magna carta and enchanted arms and infinite undiscovery...
Wii got The last story and Pandora's tower which are kind of the closest to what you are looking for i think.
PS3 was left in the cold with SO4 which was shit (and 5 is not releasing on PS3 on the west), some mediocre Tales games, a lot of Atelier games (which are also shit... most at least) and Final fuck XIII which, guess what? shit.
Nier, Ni no kuni and maybe Eternal Sonata are the only decent JRPGs left on the console... and maybe Guilty crown because it looks kind of like Odin Sphere but inferior in every way.
There is Dragons Dogma which is a WRPG made by japs so it has some good things but it's not a JRPG... and Drakengard 3 which you can tell is fucked up by the time they focus on the Dragoon peeing.
And maybe, even though is not a JRPG nor an RPG at all for that matter but it's pretty cool... Folklore.
The rest moved to portables... but damn, both 360 and Wii got better JRPGS than PS. I still don't get how that happened.
