I've played so much Counter Strike lately that it's starting to become routine.
Now I feel like I'm in a rut when I play, and it's starting to lose it's appeal.
So I'm going to shelf CS for awhile and try some other FPSs out.
I thinking of switching to Quake Live for awhile.
How's the scene there?

reflex is better in pretty much every way but pretty much revolves around duel
Not to say that CS isezbut you will probably find Quake difficult just because theyre sort of at odds in terms of strategy.
Your ability to develop map awareness quickly will be good for you tho.
Also do not believe that QL is dead, you will have no issues getting a game. The people who still play regularly are all amazing and the quality of matches is always very good.
