Why bother writing a story when you can pretend there's story and your drones will come with bullshit arguments like "Kojambo is trying to give you a phantom pain, bro" anyways?

The problem wasn't that there wasn't a story, but that the pacing was all fucked up.

90% of the exposition was delivered at the extreme end of the game.

As exposition-heavy as the other games' endings were, there was still a constant flow of new information to keep you interested in the plot.

Game needed a button prompt to play any tapes you haven't listened to yet everytime you got out of the chopper, since barely anyone went out of their way to listen to them
