I'm not even into RTS games that much, but I love WWII settings. Some people shit on it for never being balanced, and they're probably right, but that doesn't matter to me since I only ever comp stomp.
Only thing I dearly miss from the first game was the dialogue changes when a squad was close to being wiped out. That, and Brandon Keener as the USF sniper.

Agreed though 2 was still good, one of the few of its kind that handled edgyness amazingly I feel. Localization definitely helped with that. 3 was beyond saving expect battle/visuals. 1st game had its fair share of drama too after the 1st half of the game.

It's praised because CRPGs were deader than dead back then so it was seen as beacon of hope for the genre. It was also a lot of people's babby's first CRPG.
Paper Mario is the literal only game i've played through 3 times and I enjoyed every moment of each of those. Its a real shame what the current state of the series is.
