Such was the "generic animu" style of the time, just like how the current generic style is kawaii uguu.

Ports were the main cause. 10 versions made at the same time, instead of using a base game and then porting that. It ate up much of the time and money. And they used a Lowest Common Demoninator approach, which made the game look like ass.

Then Unreal Engine 3, which they could never figure out. Notice how the game takes huge amount of power to run, while still looking like a dreamcast game.

It took so long and looks so fucking bad because they were porting it to ten different fucking systems and dealing with an inexperienced and incompetent design team. On top of shit like the Deep Silver deal and an inability to deal with bug testing.

I haven't encountered any bugs other than my game crashing if that is a bug or power-related.

Oh wait, there is one that is weird. Dyna shows up to help at Countershades level, but whenever I activate that event I have already killed the robots in that room so I just get the weirdly long conversation which I skip by exiting the room.

Whenever there is a Mighty Number that gives advice on the stage you are selecting - does that mean that the boss is weak againgst that Numbers weapon? I didn't use Countershade on Avi and I didn't use Dyna on Countershade, but it seems to check out on a bunch of other mighty numbers - like Avi counters Pyro and Pyro counters Cryo
