The facility I work at is basically a daycare for developmentally disabled children and teens, includingg. those with Mid to low functioning Autism, Down Syndrom, and FAS. Meltdowns are frequent, as are "scatological incidents," and as the intern I get to help corral the kids and clean up the mess. Some of the severe autists are basically catatonic and need to be supervised 24/7. There are higher functioning ones who can communicate freely and act ay the level of an 11 year old, but even they have hygiene issues usually and are prone to tantrums if they become over stimulated. Hilariously, there's a hugbox in one of the back rooms, but we've never used it.
I love working with most of the kids though. We have a big computer room that we host a Minecraft server in and that usually keeps them behaved for most of the day.

Do you know what a spectrum is? It's basically a range of things. There's the color spectrum, the sound spectrum, and there's the autism spectrum, just to name a few. Now, I haven't read the comic this quote is coming from, but "Where do I fit on the spectrum" seems to me it could mean anything from "how much of my body is human and how much is machine?" to "how deadly am I now that I'm part robot?"
