I kind of want to buy a PS4 for this game, FF XV, Bloodborne, Nier Automata and Zero Dawn, but I'm not sure if it's worth it.

Odin had a hard life, just a thought but it seems like he was bent on averting the prophecy altogether rather than just surviving Armageddon. Specially crafted basketball and not letting go of his crown and all. His last scenes gave me the feels, all that effort and nothing to show for it.

Well, if you like Muramasa there's no reason you won't like Odin's Sphere. It's the same exact gameplay, I actually got bored of it playing it at a friends house..

Oswald can be a shit(not counting the numerous times he gets punked), especially on 2 Frost Bens fight. If you don't want to learn infinites, your best bet outside of Berserk is using the Crazed Grip to get behind enemies and Vile Rush to regain Berserk.
Use Madness if you have access to it when outside of Berserk and Vile Rush to quickly gain Berserk meter. Serpent Grief is good for knocking back enemies if you don't have Madness yet.
Max Madness and dump one level for most of the skills just for the cheap attack and sometimes PP upgrade.
If a fight is too hard, toss a Whirlwind and/or Killercloud. This does not result in autowin on 2 Frost Bens since you need to be stationary on the weakspot and Oswald doesn't like staying put. Add a Blaze and Fire Spirit for good measure.

It's a good game. It has amazing art, the story is okay, and the combat is really fun. It also makes for an amazing remote play game since it doesn't use L2/R2 so there's no need for the vitas shitty backscreen.

Save them for S ranking bosses or boss rush mode, but whittle down your potion cache to the essential ones that you know you'll use. I like Whirlwind, Killercloud, Toxin, Blaze, Painkiller and generic healing potions.
Ice Spirits is too good. Avoid hoarding or using although I will shamefully admit to using it on Velvet's Wagner fight because HAHA ICE AND FIRE SPIRITS EVERYWHERE FUCKING PSYPHERS REEEEEEEEEEE!!
