Well enough, it has some odd slowdown at some points. It works well though if you can deal with the mouse controls for how the combat works in SS. You can try to find a controller convert, but it's not gonna be perfect by any means due to Motion+.

Oh, those. They're not too bad I did it recently again on the Wii version, not as bad as I remember, a bit of a pain on the last one because you have to go all over Zora's River/Domain and parts of Castle Town, but otherwise, it's not so bad.
I remember being greatly disappointed when it came out. Had only just gotten into Zelda about 3 years before with Wind Waker and the collector's disc (and ALTTP gba). Replayed it last year and it's a good game. Nothing extraordinary but all around solid. Was caught up in Internet hype and all around pessimistic at the time

I fucking HATE the textures in HD version of TP.
The characters were nicely done, but the chucklefuck Ausfags responsible for the rancid mish mash of textures for the rest of the game ought to be sacked.
There's everything from ridiculously over detailed generic photos just slapped on everything (the wooden house interiors in Ordon are especially bad, as are a lot of the more detailed temple patterns which depict shit that's extremely out of place), to hand painted textures which actually work really well, unfortunately they're stolen, to garbage that's just had a posterize filter ran over it.....oh and the water shaders look like fucking oil.
There's no consistency, cohesion or proper art direction and for the most part it just results in visual noise and ridiculous cases of tiling.
I'm honestly amazed Nintendo signed off on it, they had a great opportunity to do something special but instead they got a budget sweatshop tier HD version of what is otherwise a really good Zelda game.

Interesting things to note about the GCN ver. of TP.
The Kokiri symbol is mirrored on it, as is Hylian. And also while not a mirroring, Hyrule Castle/Temple of Time is backwards and facing the wrong way with where the Master Sword should be sitting. The window leading out towards Ganon's tower is the same window at the bottom of the spire in OoT's Temple of Time, however when you look below it inside Hyrule Castle, the arched grating above the Elemental Stones is right below it, despite the fact it should be on the other side, TP's Temple of Time Corrects this. Because of that, it causes Forest Haven/Forbidden Woods and Dragon Roost to not match up with the Kokiri Forest and Death Mountain.

Twilight Princess gets a bad rap, I feel. It's a great game marred by some really weird design choices.
The worst one, I feel, being the first hour or so of the game.
From goat herding, to that stupidly obtuse fetch quest to spending forever learning how to do basic shit like swing your sword. Come ON Nintendo, we know you can do engaging intro sequences! Ocarina of Time was in the first dungeon inside of fifteen minutes. Half an hour if you're slow. While, admittedly, the stuff that happens after you leave Ordon villiage is alright, you don't get to the first dungeon until the two hour mark AT LEAST. That's just flat inexcusable.

those aren't dynamic shadows technically though, Those are dynamic baked shadows.
The engine generates shadows for each mesh and projects them on the ground based on character projection and nearby lights- However, the lighting of the environment here isn't dynamic, it's all bakes and/or sequenced.
This is an old trick to sort of generate a dynamic like shadow system. Every main mesh will have one of these generated for them.

You can still make some stuff hard, but it's a bit annoying too, especially compressing the pics to all fit on something reasonably sized. There is no way you cannot enjoy TPHD. They pulled out all the issues it had by the roots.
TP on Wii/GCN has these 12 stupid bugs that you have to kill (4 in each area) that are pretty boring and tedious, which makes the wolf Link parts slightly unenjoyable. They took these out of the HD version, so that all the bugs are eventful in some way or other.
The graphics were touched up in all the right places. And the swimming controls, which were already good were improved.
Additionally, TPHD is the only way to play the Wii version with regular controls, so it's like it comes with a free exclusive game. And handedness matters in TPHD when you get deep into the game.
