>One of the biggest releases this year
>No one is talking about it

Anyone hyped here for Mankind Divided?
>>
>>342973604
i didnt want jensen as the protag again because i destroyed the platform at the end of HR and killed everyone so im kinda bummed
>>
>human revolution 2.0
>hype

yeah no
>>
>>342974047

Great game with some problems, mainly boss fights.
>>
>>342973604
Because so far there isn't much to bitch about.

Wait for release, you'll see a million threads of people complaining.
>>
>>342974363

Thankfully the devs said you can sneak past them all, don't even need to kill them.
>>
I enjoyed HR for what it was. Had more genuine depth than almost every other AAA release around that time.

So yeah, I'm hyped.
>>
I'm cautiously optimistic, but not particularly excited.

I imagine most people who give a shit at all feel that way right now, hence no threads.
>>
So what will be the excuse for why Adam gets his power level reset? The whole "you mean I got more implants then I thought I did" kinda ruins any theories about how water damage meant interpol had to replace all his Sarif shit.
>>
>>342974631
he almost died. his body probably went into some bullshit hibernate mode or something.
>>
>>342973604
Everything's been talked to death, and latest news was the IGN stealth gameplay video.

>>342974424
I am sure that, unlike DX, there will be serious repercussions for doing so.

I just hope a few have killphrases.
>>
>>342974787
In one of the videos he asks his new tech friend something to the effect of "So you're saying I have augmentations I didn't know about?" so I assume there's still shit Sarif didn't tell Adam about.
>>
>>342975063

They showed some up them in a previous trailer. One of them is this nanobot based shield.
>>
>>342974631
1. this >>342974787
2. He seems to start with some augs, as evidenced by the IGN video of the first mission.

Unrelated, that gas typhoon looks sweet as fuck.

Wouldn't work since the praxis kits you earn via experience are just for gameplay purposes and canonically are just his augs turning on as time passes.
>>
>>342974948

>I am sure that, unlike DX, there will be serious repercussions for doing so.

Hopefully they are "dynamic" in that if you let a boss live he will show up later on in the game to fuck your shit up in some ways.
>>
>>342976053

If they fuck your shit too much with no upset whatsoever, nobody will ever not kill them once they get the achievement for being a non-lethal fag.
>>
>>342975632
Fug. You're probably right. Hope not though. It'd be nice to get some praxis at the start at least, like DX1.
>>
>>342976186

*With no upside.

Maybe say letting two bosses that are Bros with each other live will cause them to think Jensen isn't sure a bad guy and pull their troops out of a area multiple people agreed to send goons to so it can be fully guarded.
>>
>>342976053
I am sure at some point you will switch sides and join the turrists, and if you kept them alive you'll get a lot of brownie points.
>>
>>342974363
The boss fights were seriously my only big complaint with the game.

They did re-do them in the directors cut and did them in-house instead of farming them out to another developer like they originally did.

They haven't really shown anything to get hyped about. Hopefully it's at least as good as Human Revolution but I don't really much in the way of improvement.

The shitty ending was the other big issue.

I'm very excited for Mankind Divided.
>>

Because HR was an ugly snoozefest.
>>
>>342976568
That too I hated that it completely disregarded your previous actions in the game and was just pick one of a few per-determined endings. I like to compared it Mass Effect 3 ending but at least it wasn't hyped up and we were completely lied to about it.

I honestly expected very early on that would be the case in HR and the ending would be shit

It's good thing the devs understand how shit the endings were. I don't think they were happy to ship the game with them but ran out of time and/or money or something.
>>
>>342979907
A bit of time/money, and a bit of "DX1 wasn't much better". The only DX game where you chose an ending before the last level is DX2, and even that has wiggle room.
>>

Considering Eidos gave them a bunch of new toys like an internal mocap studio and 5 years of dev time, I'm not worried about this feeling rushed

I don't even know why I'm not that interested in it. I liked HR and it was one of the few modern takes on old games I didn't hate. Maybe the big focus on aug issue instead of conspiracies in general.

- Nothing you did in the first game affects the second
- Malik canonically dies even though every player saved her
- Even the ending you picked doesn't matter
- New HUD looks like crap
- New augs look like crap
- Denuvo

The first five are bad, but tolerable. The last one is the dealbreaker. I will never buy a game that has Denuvo.
>>
>>342973604

I can't fucking wait for the next "every choice you made all game was pointless please push one of these three buttons for your pre-written ending." I mean, who among us DIDN'T love Mass Effect 3's ending, as imagined by DE:HR's team?

I also love how the programmers subtly fuck over using lethal by making every lethal weapon and takedown one thousand times louder than nonlethal weapons and takedowns. Can't wait for that come back.

Denuvo is not a money issue, it's a "I will not risk my fucking PC's life" issue. Any DRM scheme that attempts to do something "clever" is playing russian roulette with your rig.
>>

>>
>>342983068
DX1 had the same sort of three choice ending, albeit laid out better, and DXIW tossed your choices out to and decided merge was what everyone picked, but the merging fucked up. I don't think EIDOS Montreal expected as much interest in DXHR as they got, nor the praise from old fans of the franchise (myself included) for doing as faithful of a job as they did, and so weren't planning on a sequel at the time past optimistic "what if" conversations in passing.

It's one hundred percent possible, actually. There's an entire website dedicated to no-DRM games. It's called GOG.

>thanks to pirates, a lot of games have lots of shitty drm in them as publishers desperately try to stop the problem

1) Piracy has ALWAYS existed, and 2) it's not even a problem, since nobody has ever been able to prove it has any effect on sales. Only DRM is a problem.

It just looks like more of Deus Ex: Human Revolution
I liked that game, but I don't like that this is keeping all the worst elements from that game
-The cinematic cutscenes for taking someone down
-The third person camera when you go into cover
-The shitty story that takes itself overly serious and doesn't have fun with all the conspiracy themes
-The fact it's still a prequel to the first Deus Ex game instead of just its own thing, which means nothing in this story matters
-The overly bland graphics full of wasted detail on a shitty artstyle

I'm much more excited for Dishonored 2 coming out three months later, desu senpai.

It wasn't wild enough. The first Deus Ex went absolutely all out with it. These new games take themselves way more seriously and do it in a boring "modern sci fi novel" kind of way.

To an extent, they're forced to take themselves more seriously, since they are a prequel to the first Deus Ex, which again, I think is a big mistake. They should have gone with a reboot. The series story was ruined with Invisible War anyways.
>>
>>342973604

I'm happy to see another Deus Ex game but I don't know if I care to play through another emotional roller-coaster for Jensen.

I've always liked how the the playable Dentons in the first game and IW were emotionally retarded, as if they were disconnected from humanity. Jensen seemed way too emotional in comparison, it's even the defining aspect of his character, and it's especially irritating considering the revelation that Jensen is a Denton prototype so you'd think he'd have the same sorts of bonding issues they do.

I think I would have preferred a new protagonist for MD with Jensen being a major figure, even a possible antagonist should the player choose so, like in IW.

Short-distance teleportation isn't from Dishonored. It's old as fuck, even Minecraft had it before Dishonored. This power is generally referred to as "blinking" and you have to look at your target. It's extremely old fantasy material and has been in video games as long as first-person perspectives.

That is some petty shut to pick at. I know it wasn't invented by Dishonored, it was just a statement that obviously they saw it in Dishonored and wanted to put it in their game, since it is functionally identical to the one in Dishonored.

Personally I consider that "focus on stealth." Most of the skills are designed around stealth as well.
I would prefer to have more options in general like the original.

How many hubs have been confirmed? Assuming that the amount is same as HR, we have Prague and? Dubai's a location, but it hasn't been said to be a hub.

Would love to see Dubai personally as a hub. Detroit and Prague serve as the western starting area that is somewhat familiar to the player. If the second hub is to mirror Hengsha, it'll be another exotic Asian city with foreign signs and language everywhere, this time with Arabic instead of Chinese.

HR rewarded you for absolutely ghosting and/or going non-lethal.

MD seems more like it wants you to play stealth non-lethal for as long as you can, but go brute force when needed, which is kind of nice. There are some situations were going non-lethal is impractical, like that gameplay from E3 with the sandstorm. When the player was thrown in the middle of the sandstorm with a bunch of armed guys threatening to kill innocents, he should have gone guns blazing.

That's exactly like how i saved Malik on my original playthrough of HR. Was going non-lethal until then, but i knew that if i didn't get rid of those fags soon enough Malik was gonna die. In fact, on that E3 gameplay mission an important character dies because Jensen wasn't fast enough.

Nah, the augs thing is just a backdrop, you are still working on unravelling the conspiracy. Though I agree that conspiracy theme doesn't seem to be as dominating any more as in DX1 and even HR.
>>
>>342986379
I'm not sure if they removed the filter familam, but either way gold is still the theme colour throughout the game.
>>
>>342992904
I really fucking doubt there was a single motherfucker who saved her with non-lethal on his first playthrough. There's no way to do that unless you already know that it's gonna happen and stock up on EMPs and also perfectly calculate how far the soldiers are from the robot's explosion, etc.

>>342992913
Of course there's a way around to keep the pacifist run going, but i'm saying you should maybe follow your instincts instead of not enjoying a portion of gameplay just because of an achievment/trophy. The ideal playthrough mixes both pacifist and lethal methods.

Point of Nano in DX1 is hidding them, pure mechs like Gunther who can literally install flamethrowers in his arm would probably rape prototypes like JC in pure combat provided they had the same experience, but gunther can't go into public gathering intel from people like normal guy and then work independently because he looks like half metal skeleton while JC just have few silver linnings that can be confused for edgy tattoo considering his edgy clothes.
