it's not really that great.
The real reason people like deus ex is the worldbuilding, storytelling, detail, freedom of choice, level design (in places) and writing.
You could honestly take DXHR/MD's gameplay and mechanics, add actual melee combat to it, make the xp system not complete ass and combine it with all the good stuff from DX1 and you'd have a 10/10
