It's still going strong in Japan. It's evolved quite a bit, and also gotten a lot more difficult.

My heart says yes but my fractured 5th metatarsal says no

Storytime?

Even so, I heard it's dwindled down to a small core fanbase. Sound Voltex and IIDX are really what's going for Konami right now.

You'd be right for the most part. I'm hoping that there will be new players that get into it, especially with Round1 getting up-to-date machines at all their locations.

I fractured my foot by playing songs beyond my physical capabilities, I just walked it off assuming it wasn't anything serious.
Then almost a year later I broke it completely when I stepped on a toy that was left on the floor. It's still in the process of healing.
My DDR days are pretty much over for a while.

god let's hope

I hope your recovery turns out well, it sucks not being able to participate in your hobbies due to a temporary loss like that.
Do you play any other rhythm games in the mean time?

That looks fucking retarded. No wonder it's dead.
Unless konami stops actively sabotaging their western audience, bemani games will never be popular in the west again. It's nice round 1 has a full inventory of updated bemani machines, but they're so few and far between that 99% of riddim game players in the states will never even get a chance to actually visit them, let alone become regular players.

>then instantly speeds up
all muscle memory, at least it used to be about fun

I've been pretty preoccupied with Project Diva Future Tone.
I just love rhythm games in general.

These are the best players in the world. The majority of it isn't as difficult.
