Do you think fallout 4s voiced protagonist was a good idea and would you like to see it in elder scrolls 6.
>>
no and no

go to bed todd

The guy playing the male protagonist was great, so yeah
>>
>>342943847
Voiced protag can work in an action/adventure game, but it doesn't fit too well with an RPG because it limits player agency to choose their own role within the system.
>>
>>342943886
todd actually said it was one of the worst parts of fallout 4
>>
Give us a voice, but also give us the amount of dialogue options from the previous games
>>
would be cool if you could voice your own voice
>>
>>342943847
It's odd, it works in more linear RPGs like mass effect, where the variety of paths you could potentially take with your character were all voiced.

In this case, it feels like it actually limited the number of paths you could take with your character to being dependent on how much you could pay the voice actor.

Doing it in a more fantasy setting like elder scrolls 6, where you can choose multiple species and play types, would downright kill that game dead. It'd be shit to sound like a gruff warrior, and be playing a flimsy elf mage, or vice versa.

When did he say that, kid?

Surprised nobody's made a mod or program like that.

You just have to speak every word in the game at least once, say a full sentence/paragraph so how you enunciate certain words when said together is known, then the program would just have to stitch and calculate each and every possible sentence in the game, and there you go, one voiced protagonist.

Like hell that would actually work. How does pixar or whatever do it?

Was crap
>tone change was weird
>being a chem addict had no effect
>so on....

It was their first time doing it yea, but god it wasnt going to define the game. Why bother at all
>>
It added nothing to the game and only served to make it even harder to individualize your character due to them having such a strongly established backstory and personality.

That and the voice acting for the protag was awful. The female not so much, but holy fuck, the male VA over-does their lines like crazy.

Yes
Write better dialogue
Kill yourself if you consider a dialogue wheel
>>
>>342946124
It's something where having a single drink gives you drunk talk, but being stoned absolutely out of your gourd on psycho, jet, buffout, and hubfruits shows no effect.

It's sad they had to sacrifice dumbtalk if you're int 1 for a voice protagonist.
>>

>talking to nick post-brain exploration
>protag is perfectly calm and relaxed
>Nick pretends to be Kelogg
>"Sarcastic"
>protag explodes into a full-volume hysteric out of nowhere, far as fuck from sarcasm

Shit threw me for a loop. Had me laughing, but cringing at the same time.

>being a chem addict had no effect
Name 1 (one) game that did this
>>
>>342943847

It was a terrible idea

Combined with the fact that Bethesda can't write for shit these days it was a mind-blowingly terrible idea
>>
>>342946420
Not talking in terms of lines said, more their slurred tone when jacked out. At least chem addicts around Freeside talked like retards and had specific mannerisms
>>
>>342943847
No
>>
>>342943847
No, and maybe. Voice acting should be done with some minimal work, I think. Like the Neverwinter Nights or Dragon Age: Origins sort, where you get a small sampling of a voice to avoid the 100% silent protagonist bit, but have no actual lines of shared dialogue.
