>Want to talk about games I really love
>Want to share how great they are with other people
>Threads for those games usually die quickly on /v/
>Games are old so young 'uns don't care
>No sequels or spiritual successors
>No other games like them
>Just sit and bottle up the feelings
Let me give you a hand friendo
>>>/vr/
You can talk with adults or at least teens who try to act like adults
>>342941893
Another brother here who has that feeling too I see. Some of the games I wanna talk about were bootleg games on bootleg consoles that nobody here will have ever played. I remember there was this one cartridge that had what looked to be a painting of Jesus Christ with a group of people. What I got was a shmump where you played as Jesus on the cross shooting at enemies with lasers and everything else that a bullet hell has.
>>342942098
Not every game I want to talk about belongs on /vr/.
>>342942098
Do phoneposters shitpost there 24/7?
>Want to replay game
>Want someone to play it with me so we can talk about it and stuff
>No one ever wants to
I feel like I'm the only person who enjoys playing JRPGs with other people. Not in the sense of taking turns, but both playing the game at the same time.
>love RTS games
>for a while we had RTS game threads
>mods forced it to /vg/
>naturally it died when trying to survive between the postcount of mobashits and KS, thread 7000
>saw a new RTS thread a few days ago
>wonder how long it will take before it gets shot down again
Just be glad you're not a cartoon fan.
>go to /co/
>find thread I like
>its been up for 3 days
>its either completely dead or has 1 most per 10 minutes
>>342942098
>meanwhile, games from the later half of PC's golden age are left to rot because they aren't old enough for /vr/
Honestly, /vr/ was a mistake. The split off should have made a /vm/ - Modern Video Games, for everything from the most recent 5 years/console generation.
No no see, you're doing it wrong. Threads on /v/ have a very strict format they have to follow
You have to start controversy, and word the thread in such a way that makes you sound better than anyone else posting. It also helps if, when you state a fact or opinion, it's very slightly off from the norm, or very slightly incorrect. That'll encourage people to come in and correct you, feeding the flames. It also helps to throw in as many buzzwords as you can.
For example:
>Now that the dust has settled, can we agree that Cecil is an otherkin?
>>342942410
God I hate what gen z has done to this place.
>play a lot of video games
>friends are into vidya but not nearly to the extent as me
>play a game that blows my mind and think its amazing
>tell friends how good it is and they blow off my reccomendation
>/v/ just shitposts about it
g-guess i'll just replay it
>>342942330
I have some fond memories of cooping tales games
>>342942460
>think game is fun
>invite friends to play it with me
>they have fun
>they drop it a day later
>they go back to their assfaggot addiction
>>342941893
If you want to talk a game you love make a thread hating on it with really shitty points on why it's bad and all the fans with flock to the thread to defend it and talk about how great it is. Then you being the only one who actually was shitting on the game join in with them and everyone talks about how they liked it.
>make a legit Doom thread when it was released
>archived after 2 replies
>make a shitty eceleb bait thread
>500 replies
That's when I gave up on talking about vidya here
>That one-of-a-kind online game that you loved to pieces is dead
>There will never be a better replacement
Phantasy Star Online Episode III: CARD Revolution was amazing and there is no decent way to play it anymore. You can use the buggy SCHTSERV servers, but no one actually plays.
>>342942549
>>342942410
The problem is that overusing this taints retards into thinking the game is legitimately shit.
Look at the recent spat of morrowind threads; it's filled with tards who've never properly played it but are fed off the missing meme, or other people just in there to bait because said memes have proven so effective.
>>342942383
/co/ is the fucking worst board
>want to talk about comfy cartoons
>No one talks about anything except Steven Universe
>>342942641
>taints retards into thinking the game is legitimately shit
Same thing that happened with
>/v/ hates video games
New kids come in and actually believe it.
2007 was a mistake.
>>342942641
Well you've got to be careful when playing with fire.
Or you could go make a fake sjw twitter account tweeting about how your favorite games are bad for not being progressive or something and then screencapyour own posts then post them here and get people flood in to defend the game from sjws.
>>342942383
>>342942723
As someone who goes to /co/ for comics I seriously can't see why anyone would go there for cartoons. I'll be doing comic shit in threads and look over and just wonder what the fuck are those cartoon fags are doing.
>>342942892
>As someone who goes to /co/ for comics I seriously can't see why anyone would go there for cartoons
That's the problem, despite being called comics and cartoons, they only talk about like 2 different cartoons. They really should be separate boards.
>>342941893
>want to make a thread about talos principle
>not really for the game, just to share the french voice acting. Elohim is so fucking manly.
>don't because I don't want to be called a fucking surrender monkey
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2JpnpubJojY
I wish someone would replay Baten Kaitos with me.
>>342942285
Now here's a question for the ages.
1: How do you know he's posting on a phone? Because I tend to assume you're randomly guessing.
2: Why does it even matter if he's posting on a phone? What about this offends you so?
>>342942383
/co/ has two modes: if it's obscure or old, the threads are dead, if it's recent/popular, the threads are nothing but shitposting, shipping, tumblrposting and general deviantart/gaia-tier autism.
I wanted to discuss the new Voltron show there but the threads are ALREADY infected with irredeemable shipping cancer.
>>342943563
Go to /m/. You might be able to eke out some decent discussion if the general population doesn't care about the show.
If it's popular it'll get shitposted to death, if it has a small audience the threads are pretty okay.
>>342942383
The problem with /co/ is that it's infested with women and kids.
>>342942330
Oh, I've done this, but not with longass RPGs though.
>>342941893
If you want to make a thread about video games you need to start it with bait
>>342943551
1: look at the filename when a phoneposter post a picture
2:if someone is using a phone to browse 4chin, it mean he's walking outside among the normies, fuck them.
If you're not posting inside your basement hiding from the sun and bathing in your own sweat you can go to hell faggot.
>>342942549
Nah, I always automatically hide those bait hate threads like the Earthbound copypasta because they bring nothing but autistic hate/fanboyism from both sides and never have actually rational, good discussions going.
>>342943662
This is the only explanation I can think of for why people watch Loud House.
>>342942410
Tested this a while ago, made a few Rocl Band 4 PC threads to hopefully help that campaign along (It didn't) the first thread was positive in the OP and almost all of the posts were shitposters, then later I put a negative spin in the OP, and got a decent turn out of people who liked the series.
Contrarian /v/
>>342943551
1. If their image file name is image.jpg/png, they're a phoneposters
2. Phoneposters posts from phones because it's easier to evade bans while phoneposting, so they don't have to restrict themselves from shitposting and posting gore/sex/whatever images
>>342944053
Even given that context it seems to be a silly and pointless thing to do. Like being overly aggressive when stating your opinions or refuting other's.
Oh well, that's /v/.
>>342942410
As effective as that is at attention whoring your thread it rarely leads to good discussion. Maybe it's a problem that doing this is the primary way we talk about video games that are good, but somewhat obscure on a board for talking about fucking video games.
>>342943851
I post from mobile when I'm too comfortable in bed, do i get a prize for being really lazy?
>>342943641
>/m/
I always imagined it being /m/ - masturbation. What a shame it was when I bothered to check
So what game do you want to talk about.
No one ever talks about Chibi Robo with me.
>>342942450
>blame all your problems on le next generation
>everything's always their fault
the concept of 'generations' was a mistake. People just use it to think dumb generalising shit and blame an almost entirely unconnected group of people for everything they don't like.
>>342944226
casul
>>342944470
Spotted the Gen Z
>>342942410
>post: lets have a [game] thread
>dies 5 posts in
>post: which girl would you fuck from [game]
>100 posts, 50 images omitted
I wish some nazi mods would just lurk 24/7 to shoot down every eceleb, every bait, every consolewar thread other decent threads would actually survive. But no, if you post erotic content, even when its from ingame, you get banned in 5 minutes. But if there is a "what is angry joe's name again" thread. You get +5 posts per 30 seconds, for 300 posts long.
>>342943851
Whenever most people phone post it's because they're on the shitter or lying in bed and don't want to get up to post with an actual computer.
You're getting upset about nothing.
there should be an adult videogame board so the rampant lustfags could fuck off and not talk about vidya elsewhere
>>342944404
I love the sense of scale in chibi-robo. It pains me every time I remember how far the series has deviated from the first. Yes, it was about cleaning and fixing a broken home, but the exploration and size of chibi made it work as a game instead of a housewife simulator.
I bought zipline, but I couldn't stomach it past the first world.
When is happy rich sweep going to get an English patch.
>>342942354
>finally get into a game
>hey guys what do you think about x
>some anon always refers me to /vg/
>never click it
Hopefully I'm not the only one here played this game.Whip was a piece of shit, that's the most memorable thing about this game and you would get launched 15 meters when you.got hit which was horseshit.
>>342943851
What? I'm mostly a phoneposter because when I'm on my computer I play games.
Has anyone asked japmoot for an e-celeb board so shit posters will lurk that instead?
>>342946159
Not going to happen. Splitting more boards does not seem great idea.
>>342946364
this. Just ban those fuckers. If you want to share your personal opinions you get spoonfed from some retard with a camera you can do so on facebook.
