The last console I bought was a ps4 for 100 bucks and before that was an Xbox 360. I definitely don't feel like I missed anything, and a subscription is so cheap it doesn't even matter to me.

I have no money, I can't afford to switch graphics card and shit and having to spend 700~800 bucks every two years only to play like 3 games per year requiring that power and the rest being indie games than a toaster can run. To not talk about how most ports are lazy and broken.

Because I can't browse the internet on consoles. I mean I can but it's super annoying. Everytime I play PC games I always wonder hmm what's going on at 4chan/tumblr/reddit/etc and never get anywhere.
I don't have the money or space where I live for a gaming PC setup.
Consoles allow me to play current games with my friends and my thinkpad lets me enjoy all the comfy oldies like pic related.

As somebody who lived in the 90s, I'm at least grateful that consoles forced devs to refine their graphics with limited resources.
There was a time where you really had to update you computer to the latest videocard or it simply won't run new games. These days a PC can play everything for years.
