>Todd Howard will defend this
Skyrim Special edition for the PC will make SKSE and SkyUI unusable along with all mods that require them, so almost all mods
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rpz5R_hHU88
so we have to wait like 3 days for SKSE to be updated
tragic
>>342900960
You have been arrested for spreading for false info.
The game will be great and well worth money
>>342900960
That's ok, the only mods worth using were graphical and those are now useless. Everything else was nude models and meme shit.
>a new patch comes out that breaks mods
>everything is fixed within a week
WOW
>>342900960
Contact Gawker, because you'd make a great clickbait/misinformation journalist.
>>342900960
I haven't paid attention to this at all, but I have huge doubts that this version will be useful or interesting to PC players at all.
Will it have better textures?
Will it have better lighting/shading than the ENBs that are already out there?
This was created for console owners, end of story

creators of SKSE said it would take months

Source?
>>342900960
That's how mods work. A new version of a game always breaks mods, even if most of the game is the same the files the mods look for are changed, in different places, or have different file sizes.
No I'm not a shill, no im not defending bethesda or zenijew. This is literally more sensationalist posting from turds who don't know how modding works. Now if they intentionally went out of their way to break and make mods not work, THAT would be a different story.
That said, it probably wont take long to reconfigure these things to work with the new edition.

This, how dare you spread lies about Todd, he cares about gamers more than money. Next you will say that he will charge you per mod! HA so silly OP! Skyrim ™ Special Edition™ will be great

32 bit to 64 bit is more than a simple update, the video also says all mods that will work for the new skyrim need to be uploaded to Bethesda.net as well
>>342900960
Then just use the regular version of skyrim
do not click on youtube bait.
the source is a forum post from skse devs "we don't know yet until we see the game"

Good! That way, Skyrim will finally be what it's creators wanted it to be, without those pesky mods getting in the way!
>>342901845
>the video also says all mods that will work for the new skyrim need to be uploaded to Bethesda.net as well
The video is from a mod-author youtuber. I like Gopher be he's no insider and nor does he work for Bethesda.
>>342900960
That's expected.
I have no problem with this, the remaster will be g8 once everything is updated. Definitely will be more stable than current Skyrim.
>>342901153
It's gonna take a while.
>>342901187
PC users get it for free.
>>342901367
>I have never installed a combat or quest mod
>>342901426
Its a 64 bit exe, apparently, which will help performance issues. Lighting changes will put far less stress on your PC than the ENBs for the same thing. Probably still going to want an ENB though.
>>342900960
The modders will just make new versions of SKSE and SkyUI that are compatible with the old mods.
>>342902047
It's common sense. Of course Bethseda is going to force their shitty system.
>not re-releasing oblivion, the 10 year old immensely popular game ripe for nostalgiabait bucks from xbox 360 kids as well as r/pcmr cucks who played skyrim as their first tes game
i dont get it lads
No one should be surprised by this
>>342903058
Which will take weeks to months.
>>342900960
I'm just curious to see what all this remaster does to the game. Ignoring the ridiculousness of remastering a five year old game, what has changed outside of the superficial flora and lighting overhaul? Have they changed how the game reads memory so pop in and uGridsToLoad nonsense isn't so severe of a problem? Is the game drastically changed to be modder-unfriendly outside of using BethNet to run your stuff? If SKSE gets updated with modders actually come back and update their mods to be compatible with it? WIll they even need to? What about modders that left the community and took their mods with them?
It sucks that this was only released to get some console sales numbers, and only a slight balm that PC users are getting it for free.
>>342901343
It's unplayable without SkyUI
Who the fuck is playing Skyrim in Current Year?
>>342903601
It's not that big of a deal. It just means you'll be playing the older version of Skyrim for a month or so while all the mods update.
>>342903880
>It just means you'll be playing the older version of Skyrim
Oh jesus fuck no
Guess that i won't be buying it then. Skyrim requires a large amount of mods to even be playable. Not gonna sacrifice so much just for a 64-bit engine and an ENB.
>>342903694
I dumped hundreds of hours into skyrim without skyui.
I tried it for a week or so and literally could not use it.
unmodded shitty console menus were perfect for me.
>>342903784
yo dawg i only play the latest and greatest from my main ni...n-word T-Dog. Im fallout 4lyfe
So is this considered an update or will my steam library look like this?
>The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim
>The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim Special Edition
>>342903532
It's probably easier to slap on a bunch of new shaders and textures then it is to update a shit ton of models and visual effects
>>342904524
I don't think we've gotten any info on this, but I would suspect the latter given that it will break mods/saves.
>>342904524
I believe it will be a separate thing since you don't get it unless you bought all the DLC and other games that got upgrade versions are separate entries.
>>342904607
This. Updating Oblivion would require more work than Bethesda can be assed to do. These fuckers get a free pass on slapping on some ENB-filter with no effort.
>>342900960
Gotta make sure the paid mods have a way to exist
The engine fixes were the only thing I liked in Fallout 4
I could fucking ALT TAB WITHOUT CRASHING THE GAME. Thats revolutionary by Bethesda standards.
>>342904768
Enb isn't a filter, its actually pretty sophisticated in how it can shange lighting and fuck with the engine. The shaders it can load are "filters" but it can totally be made to be non horseshit.
Fo4's renderer defniitely has stuff ENB can't implement and I'll gladdly wait for that.
Besides, I don't give a shit about Skyrim anyways, just want to play Enderal in the latest semi-shit Bethesda engine while OpenMW devs do their thing.
