I really like my Vita but it just hasn't got anything on the number of must-have games that the Gameboys and even the PSP had. There are less than 10 Vita games that I'd consider true "must haves" whereas on the Gameboy Advance there were at least 20.
The 2DS is a lot more reminiscent of the old gameboys, even if it's a bit bulkier, and it's nice and cheap. Overall I think the Vita is better, but it's the retro handhelds that I really still have a burning desire to play whenever I can.
