Daredevil was an open-world action game with beat 'em up combat where you traversed using acrobatics and a grapple hook. The story involved a gang war, which served as a plot excuse for the streets to be regularly stocked with violent thugs. The player could at any time switch to shadow world view, which made walls transparent and let you see X-ray views of enemies and gather information about them, like their fear levels and other vital signs.
Sounds a lot like Arkham City to me.
