I remember back in 2006 when I had the shittiest Internet. A ~1GB file would take literal HOURS to download. But ever since I left my old ISP I've been getting this shit. This is seriously a blessing. I know a lot of you have much better speeds than this, but I know many of you have much worse, too, and I feel for you.
Can we just take a moment to appreciate how far technology has come? Also, post some game download speeds or some shit so mods don't delete this thread.

Ever since 4G became a thing and I upped my connection to 10mb/s downloads, life has been amazing.

I've been having the same problem for years with Comcast. Once a year comes a time where my internet shits out and I wait 2 weeks hoping changing a splitter works or turning off the modem for an hour will work. But it never does. I always have to replace the modem or call a tech. And this is my second week of waiting for it to fix its self. I'm calling for a tech in about an hour.

Me too! I live in the UK and our internet speeds are atrocious, especially in cities.
I'm on 20mbps line, which only gives me 1.6mbps max. It's still better than the old days of 2m/s lines and 200kbs downspeeds. But damn it, I had better internet at university in a shitty house share with my mates when we had no money.
Fucking London. I live as a lodger because of stupid rents and so I have essentially zero control over the infrastructure in the house.

You know what's funny, I was getting around 20mbps (~2MB/s) and some Comcast dudes came and fixed a bunch of cables outside and it increased to my current speeds. Some fuckers had put a 3 way splitter outside leading to their homes.

I'm sandwiched between two large towns a modest drive away with the capital of the state not even that far at all, and yet my town still has copper wires and Centurylink. It's miserable, and for the past couple years their service has declined to the point that the net basically disconnects whenever it wants with nothing i'm able to do about it.
