This is what that one anon meant by hashing this out again. The last time Sora got a proper look at Kairi, he was under the assumption that she would be fine and safe back on the islands. When he finds out that Organization had captured her from Saix, he got down on his knees to beg when he was asked what he would do for him to see her. As for the Riku point, every time Sora had heard about Riku he had been in some deep shit and the last time he properly saw him he was in the KH equivalent of hell. Riku's his best friend and he could have been turned into a heartless or dead and by the time he sees him "in person" again he was relieved.
