>Prequel game where final boss of the first game is the protagonist
I'm sure there are games that does that but I can't think of any
>Sequel where the last game's protagonist is a mid boss and he's just as powerful as he was in that game
Has there been any game to do that other than Metal Gear?
>>342868979
>prequel game where the final boss of the first game learned their techniques from your father
>>342869169
>>342869261
Borderlands the Pre-sequel
Not the final boss, but two of the main characters become bosses in the next game
>>342869169
>>342869261Tactics Ogre: Knight of Lodis did it.
>"sequel" game that follows the same story during the same time period but from the antagonist's perspective
>Sequel sets up the events for the first game because time travel is a stupid plot device
Bayonetta please. It made Balder even more based for sure, but come on.
Doe Jedi Knight do this? There wasn't a sequel to academy, was there?
>>342869230
Maybe guardian heroes / advance heroes?
Legacy of Kain
>>342869421
He wasn't the final boss
>>342871241
Only because he decided to get the fuck off that island before he could be the final boss.
>>342869230
Drakengard
>>342869230
Yes pls
>>342869793
This one of my favorite things about Bayo 2. I hope Bayo 3 will have more of her mom.
>>342869261
Legacy of Kain did go back and forth with Kain as both the protagonist and antagonist.
This kind of applies to Castlevania with Lords of Shadow as well.
>>342869230
hes even more powerful than he was in game
>Last boss is your shadow/clone
>final boss is the main character from the future
>>342869230
Pokemon Gold/Silver
>>342872882
Man I remember when it was revealed at the end, what a fucking good twist.Infamous 1&2 are so much better than Second Son
>Last boss is a character in the prologue who you never thought you'd see again
>sequel's main antagonist is the previous game's main antagonist raised from the grave
>>342875604
Wasn't the tutorial boss in Damon's Souls the hidden Primeval Boss, that you'll get on your second Playthrough, oe something?
>>342869793
>>342871689
The problem with a third game is that I have NO idea where a third game could go plot-wise.
They've already done almost everything there is to do.
>>342876378
Couldn't tell ya, never played it. I was talkin' about Dragon's Dogma, where in NG+ you fight your last character if you're offline, or a random player's character if you're online.
>>342872882
inFAMOUS was fuckin' awesome.
>>342876463
Kill the god of inferno.
>no final boss, just choose your favorite color
>best boss was in the previous game anyway
>>342876834
I hope you're not talking about Mass Effect because giant terminator was dumb as shit.
>>342868979
> Thread that gets placed in /trash/ and OP who gets banned for shitposting on /v/
Hue hue hue, here's this (you).
>>342877140
No, I mean the dude with the sword. Was that not the second one?
>>342872882
>>342875319
I suspected that was going to be the case with all the hints during the campaign, but it blew my mind nevertheless.
>>342876378
Nah, just the vanguard demon. If you die there you can fight it again in area 5-1, no NG+ required. If you beat it in the tutorial then dragon god kills you and he's the last boss of archstone 2.
>>342875604
>DLC main villain is a character in a prologue who you never thought you'd see again
>>342877238
No that was the third one.
>>342877529
Shit. My bad. I gotta play it again, they're starting to melt together in my memory.
>>342869169
Castlevania lords of shadow
The protagonist is the motherfucking Alucard
Also shadow the hedgehog
>Developer intro and title screen doesn't appear
>First level is an abridged version of the final battle of the previous game
>>342877173
>talking about a videogame
>get banned from /v/
This isn't even the bad shitposting compared to some other things
>>342879794
its still nothing more than a greentext thread
>DLC campaign takes place along side original campaign as a different protagonist.
>Constantly hear people talk about all the shit the guy from the main game is doing.
stalker
That's the best scenario
Especially if they were your mentor
>>342881441
Fuck I'm sure I know what game this is but I can't think of the name
>Sequel where a previous game's main antagonist suddenly teams up with you to take on the new more powerful antagonist out of self-interest
>Sequel's antagonist is your old mentor
>>342869419
>Willhelm died just to sabotage Sanctuary's shield
fuck you jack
>>342881635
Dishonored is one. I'm just finishing up Knife of Dunwall (The final mission is being a bitch to do without killing anyone) and the announcements have talked about Corvo escaping from Prison and I'm told Brigimore witches carries on from there.
>>342881803
I don't get it
>>342869230
>Prequel where you start out as a grunt working for the bad guys seen in the previous games
>You get stronger and fight the protagonist in a boss battle from the previous game except from your point of view
>You get fucked over/killed in the end
Any good games where this happens? Pic unrelated
>>342868979
>>342869261
Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep sort of does it, Terra becomes Xehanort becomes Ansem becomes Xehanort's heartless which is the final boss of KH1
>>342882507
>Game about being bad guys doing bad things
>DLC of good guys version is better than main game
Disappointing.
>Sequel where you replay the main events from a previous game except from the antagonist's perspective and he/she is actually more morally justified upon seeing the bigger picture
>>342881441
>>342881635
F.E.A.R., HL: Opposing Force, Crysis Warhead maybe?
>>342877140
at least it was a final boss instead of some dumb kid
I will never stop defending mass effect 2, it was the last decent game bioware ever made
