This game wasn't great, but it was definitely awesome. The music, setting and characters really helped. I want another one of these by Genius Sonority but I doubt TPC would want to put out a pokemon game this 'dark' ever again.

Battle Revolution is Stadium with out the mini-games, gym battles and other fun PC stuff. So yeah its pretty shit. Its also very outdated with Gen 6 and Online battles doing what it tries to do better.
The Colosseum games have a pretty lengthy story mode. I prefer the 2nd one better, but the first one isn't bad.
At the time, they were the only way to get Gen 2 pokemon. BR also has cameos of Gen 4 Pokemon.
They aren't vital, but still fun to check out.

I love the atmosphere and music, and some of the mechanics are cool, like capturing enemy Pokemon.
The rest is pretty average though, the main thing I think about when looking back on the game is the soundtrack and Wes's cool little anime pose during battles.

As someone who just tried playing through Colosseum, no, it isn't even saved by the music.
Literally the slowest game I've ever played, absolutely terrible level curve, almost every single mon you have access to is a shit mon, the level design is fucking garbage, all the characters are boring as fuck except for Wes in the opening cutscene, where from there on he has literally no personality. I got up to Ein, the guy with Raikou, and dropped it after beating him.
I started playing XG, a rom hack of the sequel, and I'm enjoying it much more.

Yes, the grinding in the game takes fucking centuries since none of the trainers you can rebattle have good Pokemon, if you want to get to a decent level without wanting to tear your eyes out you have to either hack in Rare Candies or abuse the walking glitch.
