I just bought a copy of Batman: Arkham Knight and already running into issues. The game wont even launch. I've updated my Driver and read threads from Steam to Reddit.

Your laptop cannot run this. Trust me. A Toshiba laptop cannot run this game. It doesn't have enough Cpu processing power to run the game, enough RAM to keep it running or a strong enough GPU to even allow it to look nice.

Its unoptimized by can be played at 60 fps through sheer brute force. The ps4 version at 30 fps is shit compared to it.

I've already (thanks to this threads mocking) figured out my issue. This laptop doesn't have enough processing power to run this game. You're right this laptop is shit.

Here's some real advice I can give you- PC gaming is highly customizable and very expensive. You often need pretty modern parts to run modern games above 30fps, let alone AT ALL, so if you want to get into PC gaming you should look up information about building your own PC. It's expensive but easy to do, and caring for your PC can teach you some responsibility.
That being said, purchasing Arkham Knight was a SERIOUS mistake. The game requires fairly modern hardware to run it well, and you will not be able to run it without serious and good hardware.
Building a good PC costs anywhere from $800-$1400 and above dollars depending on what you buy and how hard you go, but it's important to look up guides and get information. Also don't play on a laptop unless they're for gaming, though even those are a waste of money as they cost MORE than a desktop.

It's really not that bad now. I get occasional stutter and frame drops when the PhysX stuff is on screen but otherwise it's near constant 60FPS. The only reason to buy the console versions now is the PS4 exclusive skins.

Not trying to be a dick, op, but you would be better off on consoles. I think you'll be very happy with a PS4. To deal with PC gaming you'll need to do a bit of research and learning to be able to deal with the hoops and issues you'll run into. Hell, I recently dropped PC as a whole a few years ago and haven't been disappointed. The hassles involved with PC gaming just isn't worth it in my opinion.

It was a bad port but I recall extreme hyperbole being thrown around when it released. Like people saying drops from 60 to 48 fps made it "unplayable".
The only problems I've has is some substantial drops in framerate while driving fast in the Batmobile.
