It's a very good action-rpg
It's alright. Missed potential. The way damage is calculated and how healing is done is fucking retarded, but it had cool stuff like overworld chimera/griffin/drake fights and BBI was pretty cool.
Overworld is also small yet empty as fuck lacking enemy variety.

Pawn system and combat are great, but everything else feels like an afterthought they crammed into the game at the last moment.
Especially quests that are supposed to be part of the story. They are literally no different from a randomly generated escort/fetch mussion.

As a huge Devil May Cry fan I found the combat disappointing.

Like 7/10 good.
Without DLC it's mediocre, like 5/10.
Some really strong design flaws, but also some genuinely great and interesting idea, albeit often clearly not developed at their full potential.
The game was rushed, it's clear and admitted, it's still a good game, but just keep that in mind when you'll play it.
Its a very good game, but extremely underdeveloped in most aspects.

There were alot of excellent ideas, they just needed fleshing out more. One thing that I personally loathed is not being able to access all of your attacks, forcing you to pick between a select few. They could have found a way to let us use all of our moves via a combo system or something.

I absolutely hated this game when I played it, apparently the 10 hours I put into it weren't enough and it gets palatable after 10 more hours. I don't see the point in making a game that you can't enjoy from the start.

On my second playthough at the moment, still need to do Bitterback.
It's really fun but definitely feels some parts are unfinished.
Very fun game in my opinion but yeah like everyone said it was rushed as fuck. Some people dont like the combat system but I thought it was pretty cool and engaging.
It sucks Capcom rushed it because they had so much more planned for it.
Also wolves hunt in packs Arisen.
I absolutely love it and it's one of the SP RPGs that has managed to keep me playing for a very long time. I spent like 300h with DDDA, which is pretty much unprecedented for me in SP RPGs. It's just the content the game comes with too, nothing user-created or modded in.
It's flawed and rushed for sure, but the core gameplay is a few notches above pretty much any other action RPG I've played in recent memory. The pawn system is neat too, although even there you can see there's room for it to be even better.

The inventory system and many other aspects are overcomplicated as hell. Prepare to browse the wiki if you can't cope with missing a lot of stuff ...
That said the game's amazing in a way. The Spells, the Monsters and even casual sword strikes all have this weight to them.
The world is huge and the graphics are bearable unless you're some sort of graphics whore.
The storyline is garbage until the 3rd act where it suddenly picks up the pace and makes you forget how uninteresting everything prior seemed
It's definitely underrated in my opinion. Many reviewers scoff at it for technical shit like the things i mentioned before but the game's atmosphere and world are fascinating.

Yeah, they were so close to making it a perfect 10, but all of the nitpicks bring it down to like a 7. I adore fantasy games like this, and it's very irksome to me that they were so close.
You can jump and grab onto a harpy in the air and ride it to reach the other side of Soulflayer canyon immediately.
