Multiplats generally ran better on the 360 (generally due to devs finding the PS3 difficult to program for) and file sizes were drastically smaller, but the PS3 arguably had better exclusives. Both received a lot of long term support though so I dunno.

I would disagree the xbox had a lot of good exclusives that hit the niche audiences a lot better. The ps3 was just a weeb game player with a couple big hits. The only problem was was that if you did want to play jap ganes you didnt buy the xbox so it didn't matter that it did have a couple of great games for that audience but for every other audience it was far better. I've had PSXand PS2. Early PS3 was dissapoting from news, I had, so I went with X360. It was pretty fine until it died to E74.
Called m$hit support and they repaired console. It died shortly after anyway.
At the end of gen PS3 started getting games, but it seemed way late.
Overall both consoles represent shift in gayming. Shit like golden horse armor, ondisc dlc, grey and dark pallete of colours, WE WANT WIEDER AUDIENCE, dayone patches (at least HDDs became standards but from perspective Im not sure that's good), instalation of games to hdd and then need of puting disc anyway to fucking run them despite all data being on hdd, paid online (though xbl had already abonament on xboxhuge). CINEMATIC experiences, game taking years to develop, consoles having less and less exclusives. And some shift into advertising consoles into not only media stations (shit like ps2 already was advertised as dvd player), but more like some easier to use pc. Fuck that.
