The augmentations didn't give only height... he can bench over 1200 lbs on each side(see marvel wikia), enhanced healing factor and can run faster than a car. Also Pym and Stark build him an exoskeleton.

Just from how they were both created, I can only see Chief winning.
Raised from a toddler, learning only how to fight, mentally and physically. Knew no childhood or anything, only combat.
Cap was like 17 or 18 or however old you had to be to join the army in WWII and was just some kid working a part time job and going to high school.
Regardless of strength, Chief would find a way to kill this guy, no questions asked.
It's really hard to measure the skill and power of a character who has had 50 different writers working on his stories giving him different powers and personalities over the years. And until 343, Halo only had Bungie and Eric Nylund.

Speaking honestly CE by modern standards would be in meh as well. It just hasn't aged very well, it's single player in particular. 4 also isn't really bad, it;'s just sub par for Halo, compared to other shooters it's still pretty good.
5's single player isn't that good but it has GOAT multiplayer, almost Halo 2 tier. It has actually balanced weapons, the best gunplay/aiming tightness the series has ever had, pretty good map design, and great core gameplay mechanics. The Forge is also almost a dev tool, pic relatedBut it doesn't have local play and the MP is online only, because 343 had to fuck it up somehow

Reach was not a faithful adaptation and there wasn't anything wrong with ODST, it was just underwhelming by comparison to the rest of the series.
I don't like 4 and 5 because of the lore rape. I somewhat agree about 5's MP though, except local/splitscreen is essential for me.

Read halsey's journal. You can't call yourself a lorefag and whine about how it doesn't match tFoR if you haven't read the in universe journal the game shipped with that resolves most of the canonical inconsistencies.

Maybe if you were expecting it to be a full game, sure, but it was always advettised as an expansion to halo 3. I got MORE then what I expected. Also, judge games but what they are, not by what they aren't.

I agree how 4 completely fucked cortana's and johns personality, how rampancy works, and all of that makes it's story complete shit, but the campaign misisons themselves are on par with 3's, The Covenant and The Ark aside, and the MP is "alright". On any sort of objective scale it's still an 8/10 game overall, which sure, isn't as good as the other halo games, but is still far from shit.
There's no lore rape in 5 unless I missed something; the narrative just isn't very good.
